If you just need a reliable, cheap home for a first site or side project, Bedrock is the easy call.

Bedrock is aimed squarely at beginners, and it shows in the best way: the panel is uncluttered, SSL is automatic, and installing WordPress took two clicks. For a brochure site or blog it was plenty responsive.

It's shared hosting, so a traffic spike will hit limits a VPS wouldn't, and paid add-on backups are worth budgeting for. Within those expectations, it's excellent value.
