Our verdict

A low-cost way to make any TV smart — quick, tidy, and refreshingly light on clutter.

Setup took under five minutes, and the Nimbus stayed responsive even with a dozen apps installed. 4K HDR content looked crisp, and the remote's backlit buttons plus TV power/volume control meant we could finally retire a second remote.

Storage is the obvious limit at 8 GB, so heavy app collectors will juggle installs. If you mostly rotate between a handful of services, though, the Nimbus is the easiest streaming upgrade you can make for under $50.
