Lab-Grown Diamond Jewelry Compared: 5 Picks From 2 Online Jewelers and Their Fine Print

JNCY's $300 studs and $950 bangle come with a 30-day return; Lola Ade's $995 necklace says an IGI report comes with it, but every Lola Ade pick, including a Dzi band from $1,395 and $3,995 drops, is final sale.

Updated October 25, 2026 · 5 reviews compared

This page compares five pieces of lab-grown diamond jewelry that are not engagement rings: stud earrings, drop earrings, a necklace, a bangle bracelet and a wedding band. They are sold online by two jewelers, JNCY Jewelers in Miami and Lola Ade, a Los Angeles jeweler that sells online only. The picks run from $300 to $3,995 at their listed or starting prices, as priced on October 23, 2026. Listings give weight as total carat weight (ctw), so a 0.50 ctw pair holds two stones of 0.25 ct each. Our separate guides cover diamond studs, hoops, tennis bracelets and lab-grown engagement rings in more depth.

Grades and paperwork differ most. JNCY lists color and clarity for both of its picks, near colorless (F-G) with VS or SI1+ clarity, and mentions no certificate or lab on either. Its refund policy, though, withholds $100 for a missing diamond certificate where one applies, so ask whether one comes with the piece. Lola Ade lists minimums on its Dzi wedding band (GH color, VS clarity, at least 1.00 ctw) and states Fancy Yellow color and VS+ clarity for its drop earrings, naming no grading lab for either. In our reviews of its lab-grown pieces, Lola Ade names IGI only on some single-stone necklaces, such as the Blue one in the table, whose listing says an IGI Grading Report comes with it. We have not seen any report.

Returns are the sharpest difference between the two stores. JNCY's refund policy allows 30 days from when a piece ships, with a free FedEx label on US orders, but its FAQ says 7 days after delivery, so confirm the window before relying on 30; the piece must come back unworn with its original documents, and a band resized or modified by another jeweler cannot be returned. Lola Ade accepts no returns on fine jewelry: its Shipping and Returns page says its items are limited, handmade or made to order, and a damaged or defective piece must be reported within 14 days of delivery for an exchange or repair. Ask Lola Ade for the production time and for what a damaged piece gets in writing before you pay.

Size and length are the other gap. JNCY's bangle gives no diameter and no size choice, Lola Ade's drop earrings give no stone dimensions, and only the studs (.25 inch), the Blue necklace's chain (adjustable from 16 to 18 inches) and the Dzi band (sizes 3 to 10) state a size. For a band, Lola Ade offers one free resize within 6 months on certain styles, up to 2 sizes, while JNCY offers one in the first year on standard styles in sizes 4 to 10, except eternity bands. JNCY ships free by USPS from Miami, in about two weeks for made-to-order pieces, and ships to eight other countries for a flat $50. Lola Ade ships orders over $100 free, usually in 1 to 4 weeks by UPS 2-day with an adult signature, and ships fine jewelry only within the United States. We found no Trustpilot or BBB page for either store in October 2026; JNCY's only outside ratings are three 5.00 scores without text on ProvenExpert.

How we compared

We compared these pieces from the stores' product listings, as summarized in our full review of each, and from their refund, shipping, warranty and FAQ pages. Those pages were first read on October 19 and 20, 2026, and reloaded on October 24, 2026: JNCY's five pages and three of Lola Ade's five were unchanged, and Lola Ade's sales terms and About page, which could not be reloaded that day, are used as read on October 20. We have not handled these pieces; the grades, weights and prices are the listings' own, and we have not seen any grading report.

Where a listing or a store's own pages disagree, this page says so: JNCY's refund window (30 days on its refund policy, 7 days in its FAQ), the side clasp in the description of JNCY's bangle against the clasp line that reads Bangle, the .36 ct in the text and approximately .35 ct in the spec list of Lola Ade's Blue necklace, the 4.51 ctw in the description and approximately 4.50 ctw in the spec lines of its drop earrings, and Lola Ade's production time (1 to 4 weeks on its shipping page, 3 weeks on two of these product pages, 6 to 8 weeks in its FAQ). The picks are labeled by need, not ranked against each other; each price comes from the pick's review and was last checked on the date shown beside it.

Each pick links to its full review and the sources behind it. How we research

Questions before you buy

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

GIA says laboratory-grown diamonds have the same crystal structure as natural diamonds, tightly bonded carbon atoms, and nearly the same chemical, optical and physical properties. By eye the difference can be indistinguishable, but gemological laboratories can detect the different growth history with advanced instruments. They are grown by high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) or chemical vapor deposition (CVD).

How much cheaper is a lab-grown diamond than a natural one in jewelry?

Where a listing prices both stone types, the lab-grown one costs less, but the grades differ. Lola Ade's east/west emerald-cut bezel necklace, an average 1/2 carat on an 18 inch chain, costs $995 with a lab-grown stone and $1,795 with a natural one, $800 less, in any of three 14kt golds. Its classic solitaire necklace at .25 and .50 ct runs $695 to $895 lab-grown against $995 to $2,095 natural. The listings give natural stones H/I color with SI clarity and lab-grown ones F or F/G with VS, so the pairs are not like for like, and neither names a grading report.

Do lab-grown diamond earrings and necklaces come with a certificate?

Mostly the listings do not say. JNCY's $300 studs and $950 bangle mention no certificate or lab, though its refund policy withholds $100 for a missing diamond certificate where one applies, and some of its stud titles say certified without naming a lab. Lola Ade names no report on its Dzi band or drop earrings, but the Blue necklace's listing says an IGI Grading Report comes with it. We have not seen any report.

What does a minimum grade such as GH color, VS clarity mean?

A minimum is a floor, not the grade of each stone. Lola Ade's Dzi band says at least GH color, VS clarity and 1.00 ctw, and its lab-grown studs say G color and VS2 clarity at minimum, with minimum weights too: a 1.00 ctw pair may weigh .95 ctw and a 2.00 ctw pair 1.96 ctw. JNCY states ranges such as F-G with VS clarity instead. None of these listings names how the stones were checked, so ask the store for the exact grades before you pay.

Which of these jewelers accepts returns?

JNCY's refund policy allows 30 days from when the piece ships, with a free FedEx label on US orders; its FAQ says 7 days after delivery, so confirm first, and $100 is withheld for a missing diamond certificate where one applies. Lola Ade accepts no returns on fine jewelry; report a damaged or defective piece within 14 days of delivery for an exchange or repair.

How long until it arrives, and do they ship outside the US?

JNCY says made-to-order pieces take about two weeks and in-stock ones ship in 1 to 4 business days, free by USPS (FedEx 2Day is $25 in the US); it ships to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, South Korea and the United Kingdom for a flat $50. Lola Ade's shipping page says 1 to 4 weeks for fine jewelry, its FAQ says 6 to 8 weeks of production, and it ships fine jewelry only within the United States.
