Our verdict

A fit for gamers and listeners who want a named ES9039Q2M chip, sample rates stated up to 768kHz, 32-band PEQ and both 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone jacks for $84.99. Look elsewhere if you need output power at a stated load, noise and distortion figures or a page without gaming claims. All figures are the page's own.

Why 3.4/5: Held back by the page giving no specification list as text, the store's own terms contradicting each other, and no independent test of this model being checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.

The page positions the DS3 as the third generation of Fosi Audio's portable USB DAC/amp, using an ES9039Q2M DAC chip behind a 16-core XMOS USB processor, and the store lists it at $84.99. The page lists 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, PCM up to 32-Bit/768kHz, native DSD512, a 32-band PEQ and up to 220mW with no load given in its text. The page also describes gaming-oriented 7.1 spatial processing.

Options and pricing

Two colors are listed, DS3 Black and DS3 Silver, each at $84.99 with a crossed-out price of $99.99 shown on the page, and both were orderable when the page was read. The page text gives no spec difference between the colors and describes an aluminum-alloy body with a tempered glass back panel. It lists no cable, case or box contents.

How it compares

The DUNU DTC480 is listed from $69.99 and the xDuoo LINK10 at $99, both with dual-chip DAC titles (CS43198 and CS43131), while the DS3 names a single ES9039Q2M at $84.99. The LINK10's spec line lists PCM 32Bit/384kHz and Native DSD256, against the DS3's 32-Bit/768kHz and DSD512. The E1DA PowerDAC v2.1 is $79.99 and its spec line cites up to 600mW/channel from a balanced 2.5mm output, so it fits balanced 2.5mm headphones rather than the DS3's 3.5mm and 4.4mm jacks.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Names its DAC chip (ES9039Q2M) and an XMOS USB processor
  • Stated formats reach PCM 32-Bit/768kHz and Native DSD512
  • 32-band PEQ, plus volume memory in both UAC modes, per the page
  • 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs, in black or silver at the same price
  • Page says the spatial 7.1 processing needs no PC software or driver setting

Worth noting

  • The page text gives up to 220mW output with no load
  • The page text lists no specification section and no noise, distortion or frequency response numbers
  • The page says 32-bit PEQ once and 32-band PEQ elsewhere
  • Two 'first of its kind' claims (gaming sound effects, an XMOS audio processor) come with no support in the page text
  • The page describes a battery-less design and its text gives no power draw figure

Questions before you buy

Which DAC chip and USB processor does the DS3 use?

The page names an ES9039Q2M 32-bit DAC chipset and an XMOS Powered USB processor, called 16-core in one section and 800MHz in the introduction. It says they enable 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512.

What does the 7.1 spatial audio feature do?

The page says an in-house algorithm processes 7.1 channel audio and converts it to 2-channel output, with no PC software or driver setting needed, and that an FPS Sound Engine emphasizes directional cues such as footsteps. These are the page's claims.

What outputs and modes does it list?

3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone output ports, with up to 220mW per the page and no load given in the page text. UAC1.0 and UAC2.0 modes are listed, and volume memory applies to both.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • Beyond a 220mW output with no stated load, the page text gives no noise, distortion or frequency response numbers, although its text claims high SNR and ultra-low THD+N.
  • The introduction says 32-bit PEQ support while the feature list and a later section say 32-band PEQ.
  • The page makes two 'first of its kind' claims (gaming sound effects, an XMOS audio processor in a DAC/AMP) and says rivals support 8 to 10 PEQ bands; none of this is supported in the page text.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
