The Nobsound R21J Cartridge Headshell Keeper is a storage and display box priced at $36.99. It is aimed at vinyl collectors who rotate between cartridges: instead of loose headshells on a shelf, the keeper holds up to 10 of them in one dedicated place.

The design pairs a transparent plastic cover with a beech and solid wood base. The materials are described as sturdy and stable, and the clear shell does double duty — it protects the cartridges while keeping the collection visible, which is much of the appeal for people who enjoy switching cartridges between records.

The unit measures 120x107.5mm and weighs 225g, small enough to sit beside a turntable or on a shelf. The maker notes one compatibility caveat plainly: it is only compatible with universal headshells, so DIY users with non-standard mounting should be aware before buying. The package contains the keeper only — cartridges, styli and any cleaning tools are not included.

Shipping is worldwide with free and expedited options, and cost varies by country. Being small and light, this box ships airmail in an estimated 10-25 days unless expedited service is chosen. Import duties and customs fees are the customer's responsibility. Free 30-day returns with a full refund and a 1-year warranty apply to all items, excluding orders placed by mistake, man-made damage or misuse, subjective change of mind, and anything else outside the warranty terms.

What we liked

  • Holds up to 10 cartridges, so a growing collection finally has a dedicated home
  • The transparent plastic cover keeps your cartridges visible while protecting them from dust
  • Beech and solid wood base feels sturdy and stable and looks the part next to a turntable
  • Compact 120x107.5mm footprint fits on a shelf or desk without dominating the space
  • Ships as a single keeper unit ready to load with your own headshells

Worth noting

  • Only compatible with universal headshells — DIY buyers with other mounting types should check before ordering
  • It is a display and storage box only: cartridges, styli and tools are not included
  • Ten slots is the ceiling, so a collection beyond that outgrows the box
