Qsee QH05FR 5MP PIR Analog Cameras, 4-Pack Review

A four-pack of 5MP analog cameras from Qsee (formerly Q-See) with PIR sensors for person and vehicle detection, 15 m infrared night vision and IP66 housings. They are add-ons for named Qsee DVRs, not a standalone system.

Our verdict

The QH05FR is a niche add-on: PIR-assisted analog cameras for DVRs that the page names but the store no longer lists in its catalog. Unless Qsee confirms in writing which recorder to pair them with, the QH05YC pack or a complete kit is the safer buy.

Why 3.4/5: Lifted by 5MP cameras with PIR sensors for person and vehicle alerts and cables in the box; held back by about $65 a camera, no recorder, compatibility with DVRs that aren't in the current catalog and no buyer reviews.

The QH05FR is a four-pack of 5MP analog bullet cameras from Qsee (formerly Q-See, relaunched in 2023), each with a PIR motion sensor and infrared night vision. Like the QH05YC, it is an add-on rather than a system: the cameras need a compatible Qsee DVR, which isn't included. The store lists it at $259.99 as of 18 October 2026, about $65 a camera.

What's in the pack

Four cameras, four 20 m BNC cables, a power adapter and a power splitter, plus positioning stickers, surveillance cards, screws and the manual. Each camera has a 5MP 1/2.5-inch sensor (2592×1944) at 20 or 12.5 fps with a fixed 3.6 mm lens. Video output is TVI by default and can be switched to AHD, CVI or CVBS. Each camera draws up to 3 W from a 12V DC supply, has a plastic housing rated IP66 for -20 °C to 50 °C, and measures 169.5 × 63 × 68 mm at 0.2 kg.

The PIR sensor and night vision

A PIR module with an 80° angle and a 5 m detection distance backs up motion, person and vehicle detection, which Qsee says minimizes false alarms. Night vision uses 18 SMD LEDs for black-and-white infrared video with a 15 m range on the spec table; unlike the QH05YC, there are no warm LEDs for color images.

Which DVRs it works with

The page says the cameras are compatible with the QH08052DR and QH16050DR DVRs, and its copy mentions a QH08045FR DVR system. None of those three is in the store's current catalog of 13 products, so ask Qsee support which recorder to pair these cameras with and whether it is still sold.

How it compares with the rest of the range

The QH05YC pack costs the same and swaps the PIR sensors for color night vision and a tougher IP67 aluminum housing. The QH08045HW kit ($489.99) adds a DVR, a 2TB drive and a siren, so four add-on cameras at $259.99 cost more than half of a complete system. Among IP systems, the 4K bullet kit costs $589.99 with a recorder.

Before you buy

Qsee Technology is a California company founded in 2022 that bought the Q-See trademark, and it says it doesn't support old Q-See products, servers, apps or warranties. The page for the sister QH05YC pack tells buyers to consult Qsee before pairing analog cameras with a DVR from the old Q-See, and the same caution is sensible here. This product page showed no buyer reviews on 18 October 2026, so there is nothing from buyers to cross-check the specs against. Buy from Qsee's own site or its official Amazon store to keep the 2-year warranty valid, check the box against the contents list as soon as it arrives, and test every camera inside the return window.

What we liked

  • A PIR module on every camera backs up motion, person and vehicle detection, which Qsee says reduces false alarms
  • 5MP sensors with 15 m infrared night vision
  • IP66 housings rated for -20 °C to 50 °C, and light at 0.2 kg
  • Cables, a power adapter and a splitter are in the box

Worth noting

  • About $65 a camera ($259.99 for four on 18 October 2026), more than half the price of the full QH08045HW DVR kit
  • Needs a compatible Qsee DVR, which isn't included; the two DVRs the page names aren't in the current catalog
  • Infrared night vision is black-and-white; there are no warm LEDs for color
  • Plastic housing with an IP66 rating, against IP67 aluminum on the QH05YC
  • The product page showed no buyer reviews on 18 October 2026

Questions before you buy

Is this a complete security system?

No. The pack holds four cameras, four 20 m BNC cables, a power adapter and a power splitter. It needs a compatible Qsee DVR, which isn't included.

Which DVRs does it work with?

The page says the QH08052DR and QH16050DR DVRs, and its copy mentions a QH08045FR system. None of them is in the store's current catalog, so ask Qsee support which recorder to pair the cameras with.

Does it have color night vision?

No. The page describes infrared, black-and-white night video with a 15 m range. The QH05YC pack uses warm LEDs for color images instead.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Qsee's policy page accepts returns of unopened, unused items in original packaging within 15 days of delivery (reduced from 30, it says); you pay return shipping, and a rejected return costs a 15% restocking fee plus freight. Defects must be reported within 30 days with photo or video proof, and Qsee then covers shipping. The product-page badge still says 30-day return, so confirm with support before relying on it.

Does it work with my old Q-See DVR?

Only if Qsee confirms it. The page for the sister QH05YC pack tells buyers to consult Qsee before pairing analog cameras with a DVR from the old Q-See, and the same caution is sensible here. Qsee Technology says it does not support old Q-See servers, apps or warranties. Old cameras also can't be added to the new Qsee Smart Home app.

What we couldn’t verify

  • Which DVRs are compatible today: the page names the QH08052DR, QH16050DR and QH08045FR, none of which is in the store's current catalog.
  • Buyer feedback: the product page showed no reviews on 2026-10-18.
  • Independent testing: we found no independent test or review of this model when we searched on 2026-10-18, so every spec here comes from Qsee's own pages.
  • Who makes the hardware, and any NDAA or FCC covered-equipment statement: neither is published on the product page.
