TANCHJIM FOLA DMT5 IEMs Review
A single dynamic driver in-ear monitor using TANCHJIM's DMT5 double-magnetic, double-chamber design, listed at $264. It suits buyers who want a stated 16Ω ±5% and 126dB/Vrms, three tube types and 3.5mm, 4.4mm or DSP-S plugs.

Our verdict
Suited to buyers who want a single dynamic driver IEM with stated 16Ω ±5% and 126dB/Vrms figures and a choice of tube types. Look elsewhere if you need the earpiece connector type or the exact plugs in the box confirmed before buying, because the page text gives neither. The 7.1/5.1 and waveguide claims are the page's wording, and no independent test was checked for this review: every figure here is the store's own.
- Best for
- Buyers who want a single dynamic driver IEM with listed impedance, sensitivity and three tube types.
- Skip if
- You need the earpiece connector type and the plugs in the box confirmed before you buy.
Why 3.6/5: Lifted by a list of specification figures in the page text; held back by the store's own terms, which contradict each other, and by figures that all come from the store's page, as no independent test was checked for this review.
The FOLA from TANCHJIM is a single dynamic driver IEM that the page ties to the maker's DMT5 architecture, an inner and outer double-magnetic circuit in a double chamber. It is listed at $264. The specification section gives 16Ω ±5%, 126dB/Vrms, 2Hz - 48kHz and THD below 0.056% @1kHz, 94dB, and the page lists 3.5mm, 4.4mm and DSP-S plugs on an interchangeable-plug cable.

Options and pricing
A single option, FOLA, is listed at $264 and was orderable when the page was read. The page lists three tube types named Light, Standard and Dynamic, and a cable with interchangeable plugs for 3.5mm, 4.4mm and DSP-S, a plug the page text does not explain. The page text gives no box contents, so which tubes and plugs come with the one option is not stated.
How it compares
The Binary Dynaquattro 4 Dynamic Driver IEMs cost $250.99 and list three dynamic drivers plus a passive diaphragm, against one dynamic driver here at $264. The SIVGA Nightingale Pro costs $296 and uses a 14.5mm planar driver. The BQEYZ Winter Ultra costs $269 and pairs a 12mm dual-cavity dynamic driver with a bone-conduction driver. The FOLA suits buyers who want one dynamic driver with a listed 126dB/Vrms; the others suit those who want more drivers or a planar design.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- The page text lists 16Ω ±5%, 126dB/Vrms, 2Hz - 48kHz and THD below 0.056% @1kHz, 94dB
- Three interchangeable tube types (Light, Standard, Dynamic) are named on the page
- Plugs for 3.5mm, 4.4mm and DSP-S are listed on an interchangeable-plug cable
- Aluminum alloy housing with a sapphire glass faceplate, per the page
Worth noting
- The page text names no earpiece connector type (such as 2-pin or MMCX), so cable swaps cannot be judged from it
- The page text gives no box contents, so which plugs and tubes come with the one option is not stated
- The page text gives no explanation of the DSP-S plug
- The page text gives no weight figure, though it calls the housing design lightweight

What we couldn’t verify
- The page claims HRTF-tuned virtual 7.1/5.1 effects and a waveguide cover that improves high and ultra-high frequency energy transmission by up to 10%; the page text gives no measurement behind either claim.
- The wire line says 'Interchangeable connector, with 3.5mm, 4.4mm, DSP-S plug available'; the page text gives no earpiece connector type, no box contents and no explanation of the DSP-S plug.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
