Our verdict

A fit for buyers who want a hybrid in-ear monitor with the driver count given per side and a choice of 3.5mm or 4.4mm cable at $114.99. Look elsewhere if you need the page text to say the cable detaches, to give a weight or cable length, or to name who measured its curve. The sound wording comes from the page and the store's tags, and no independent test was checked for this review, so every spec figure is the store's own.

Why 3.5/5: Held back by the store's own terms contradicting each other and by figures that are the store's own, with no independent test checked for this review.

AFUL's Explorer is a three-driver hybrid in-ear monitor: the page lists a 1DD+2BA setup per side, 26Ω±10% impedance, 108dB/mW sensitivity and a 10Hz-30kHz frequency response. HiFiGO prices it at $114.99, and the page shows a crossed-out price of $119.99. The page also describes a 3D printed cavity structure, a multi-layered electronic crossover and a stock cable with a 3.5mm or 4.4mm plug chosen at purchase.

Options and pricing

Four options are listed. Explorer-3.5mm and Explorer-4.4mm are each $114.99, with a crossed-out price of $119.99, and the option name sets the cable termination. Explorer Cable Only 3.5mm and Explorer Cable Only 4.4mm are the cable sold alone at $16.49 each, with a crossed-out $16.99, so the review price is the $114.99 earphone option. All four were orderable when the page was read. The page says the earphone is bundled with a high-purity stock cable.

How it compares

The JUZEAR x Vivir Digital SWOOP Series FIESTA 1DD + 3BA Hybrid In-Ear Monitors is also $114.99 and names a 1DD + 3BA hybrid layout. The DUNU Kima2 DLC Composite Diaphragm Dynamic Driver IEM is $114.99 too and is named for a dynamic driver with a DLC composite diaphragm. The KEFINE Klanar 14.5MM Planar Driver In-Ear Monitors starts from $114 with a 14.5mm planar driver. The Explorer suits buyers who want a 1DD+2BA hybrid with a 3.5mm or 4.4mm choice; the FIESTA suits those who want a different hybrid layout, the Kima2 a dynamic driver and the Klanar a planar one.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • The page states the driver count per side: 1DD+2BA, described as a three-driver hybrid.
  • Impedance (26Ω±10%), sensitivity (108dB/mW) and frequency response (10Hz-30kHz) are all given in a spec section.
  • A 3.5mm or 4.4mm cable is chosen at purchase, and the cable is also sold alone at $16.49.
  • The stock cable is described as 200-core dual-strand high-purity copper silver-plated and hand-braided.

Worth noting

  • The spec section writes the connector as 0.78m 2-pin, and the page text never says the cable detaches.
  • The page text gives no weight and no cable length.
  • The page text mentions a curve measured by a third party without naming who measured it.

Questions before you buy

What drivers does the AFUL Explorer use?

The page lists a 1DD+2BA setup per side: one dynamic driver and two balanced armature drivers in each earpiece, described as a three-driver hybrid. It also lists a multi-layered electronic crossover and RLC network frequency division.

Which plugs and cable does the Explorer come with?

The option names set the termination: Explorer-3.5mm or Explorer-4.4mm, each $114.99. The page says it is bundled with a high-purity stock cable, a 200-core dual-strand high-purity copper silver-plated cable that is hand-braided, with gold-plated pure copper plugs. The cable is also sold alone at $16.49 in either size.

What impedance and sensitivity does the page list?

The spec section gives 26Ω±10% impedance, 108dB/mW sensitivity and a 10Hz-30kHz frequency response. The page text gives no output power requirement, although a feature line says easy to power.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • The spec section writes the connector as 0.78m 2-pin, and the page text does not say whether that means 0.78mm or that the cable detaches; it only sells the cable alone as separate options.
  • A page line says the curve is measured by a third party and is for reference only, and the page text does not name who measured it. A closing note claims the factory's own testing standard is above the industry average; the page text gives no method or figures for it.
  • The store tags (balanced, bassy, warm, mid-forward) and the page's high-resolution wording are sound claims with no figures behind them in the page text.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
