AFUL Performer8 Hybrid IEMs Review
A hybrid IEM with one 8mm dynamic driver and seven balanced armature drivers, listed from $364.99 with 3.5mm or 4.4mm options. The page gives 25Ω and 115dB@1kHz; it suits buyers who want to choose a plug, with two options whose names pair both cables.

Our verdict
Suits buyers who want a one-dynamic, seven-balanced-armature hybrid with a 3.5mm or 4.4mm cable choice and a list of figures on the page. Look elsewhere if you need the 2-pin spacing stated, an explanation of the two combined options, or any outside check of the figures. The main caveat is the 6W cable note and the option names, which the page text leaves unexplained.
- Best for
- Buyers who want a 1DD+7BA hybrid and a choice between 3.5mm and 4.4mm cables.
- Skip if
- You need the 2-pin spacing or the contents of each combined option confirmed.
Why 3.6/5: The list of specification figures in the page text lifts it; the store's own terms, which contradict each other, and figures that were not checked against an outside test for this review hold it back.
AFUL's Performer8 pairs one 8mm dynamic driver with a biological diaphragm and seven balanced armature drivers, which the page counts as an eight-driver hybrid, and HiFiGO lists it from $364.99. The page gives 25Ω impedance, 115dB@1kHz sensitivity and a 5Hz-35kHz range, and it describes the cable as monocrystalline copper, silver-plated, and lists standard 2-pin connectors.

Options and pricing
Four options are listed: Performer8 3.5mm and Performer8 4.4mm at $364.99 each, and two combined options, Performer8 3.5mm + 4.4mm Cable and Performer8 4.4mm + 3.5mm Cable, at $400.99 each, all orderable when read. The page shows crossed-out prices of $369.99 next to the first two and $404.99 next to the combined options. The page text does not spell out what each combined option contains beyond its name, and a note says Performer5 or Performer8 cables in 3.5mm or 4.4mm can be bought separately.
How it compares
The AFUL Performer 8S is listed at $384.99, with a passive radiator and a micro planar driver added to a 1DD+6BA count, against 1DD+7BA from $364.99 here. The DUNU Vulkan 2 is $359.99; its name gives 2DD+6BA and its spec line calls it an 8-driver hybrid. Pick the Performer8 for one dynamic driver with seven balanced armatures and a choice of plug; pick the Vulkan 2 if you want a second dynamic driver.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- One 8mm dynamic driver plus seven balanced armatures, per the page's 1DD+7BA count
- Impedance, sensitivity, frequency range and a passive noise reduction figure are all listed
- 3.5mm and 4.4mm options at the same listed price, plus two options whose names pair both plugs
- Four-way crossover and tube lengths are quoted in the text
Worth noting
- The page text gives no pin spacing for the 'standard 2-pin' connectors
- The features list names a single-ended 3.5mm plug while the options include 4.4mm, and the page text does not say which cable each combined option includes
- A note says the default cable is rated at 6W; the page text does not say what that rating covers
- Sound descriptions such as tight bass and extended treble are the page's words, with no measurement in the page text
Questions before you buy
Which plugs and cables can I choose?
Four options are listed: Performer8 3.5mm and Performer8 4.4mm at $364.99, and two combined options named Performer8 3.5mm + 4.4mm Cable and Performer8 4.4mm + 3.5mm Cable at $400.99. The features list mentions a single-ended 3.5mm termination plug, and the page text does not say which cable each combined option includes.
How are the eight drivers split?
The title and features give 1DD+7BA: one 8mm dynamic driver and seven balanced armatures. The text describes a four-way crossover in which the dynamic driver and two balanced armatures cover the lower end, two more balanced armatures the midrange and three the treble.
What does the page say about driving it?
The page says it has easy driveability and lists 25Ω and 115dB@1kHz. The page text gives no output power figure or source recommendation.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- The features list names a single-ended 3.5mm termination plug and 'standard 2-pin' connectors with no size in the page text, while the options include 4.4mm; the page text does not say which cable each combined option includes.
- A note says the default cable is rated at 6W, with no explanation in the page text. Sound descriptions for bass, vocals and treble, and the suggested genres, are the page's claims.
- The store's tags call the sound balanced, bright, neutral, reference, U-shaped and warm at once; a curve note cites a third-party measurement, but the page text gives no data.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
