Nobsound P32 Vacuum Tube Headphone Amplifier Review
A mini vacuum-tube headphone amp that doubles as a desktop preamp, outputting up to 1000mW for 24-600 ohm headphones with swappable 6J5 tubes and NE5532 op-amps.

Our verdict
At $46.99 the Nobsound P32 is an affordable way to add tube warmth to a desktop setup, working as both a headphone amp for 24-600 ohm models and a preamp for active speakers. Pluggable 6J5 tubes and socketed NE5532 op-amps make it genuinely upgradeable, and the dual 3.5mm/6.35mm outputs mean no adapters. Setup has two firm rules straight from the brand: use the included DC 5V/2A adapter (or at least 2A), and never connect both inputs at once.
- Best for
- Desktop listeners on a small budget who want tube warmth for headphones and active speakers from one compact analog unit
- Skip if
- You need digital inputs or a built-in DAC — the P32 is analog-only with RCA and 3.5mm connections
Why 3.5/5: Lifted by a clear parameter list, a 5V/2A adapter in the box and pluggable tubes and op-amps with named swaps. Held back by a headphone range that starts at 24Ω, no THD figure, and a page address that names a different model than the page title.
The Nobsound P32 is a mini vacuum-tube headphone amplifier and desktop preamp priced at $46.99. It is a small analog unit aimed at upgrading the sound of a computer, phone, TV or tablet with tube character, rather than a do-everything DAC/amp.
Its headphone stage is rated at at least 1000mW into 32 ohm, with support listed for 24-600 ohm headphones — the description names heavy loads like HD580/HD600/HD650, K701/K702, DT880 and SR225 as easy drives for it. Inputs are stereo RCA and 3.5mm AUX, and outputs are both 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone jacks, so most headphones plug straight in.
The P32 also works as a tube preamp: connect a source through the 3.5mm jack and feed active desktop speakers or a home power amplifier to add warmth and texture. For tinkerers, it adopts pluggable tube sockets with 6J5 tubes as standard — 6J1, 5654, 6AK5 and EF95 are listed as compatible — plus two socketed NE5532 op-amps upgradeable to LME49720NA-DIP-8 or other 8-pin dual op-amps with more than 50mA output current. Two practical notes from the brand: use the supplied DC 5V/2A adapter or a supply of at least 2A, and avoid connecting the RCA and AUX inputs at the same time, since both inputs and both outputs operate simultaneously and mixed signals will play together.

How it compares
At $46.99 the P32 is $3.00 below the Douk Audio U10 ($49.99), the other mini tube amp here. Both list RCA and 3.5mm inputs, 3.5mm and 6.35mm outputs, an SNR of 110dB or better and a 20-30kHz response, and both pages list pluggable tubes and op-amps. The P32 lists 1000mW or more at 32Ω for 24-600Ω headphones and comes with 6J5 tubes and a DC 5V/2A adapter. The U10 lists 1100mW or more for 18-600Ω headphones and 6A2 tubes, and ships without an adapter.
Without tubes, the Nobsound P10 is $7.00 less at $39.99 and lists 1100mW or more at 32Ω, 24-600Ω headphones, a 30V swing, two pluggable NE5532 op-amps and a 5V adapter in the box. The Douk Audio U3 is $10.00 less at $36.99 and lists 1300mW or more with a Class A output stage, an RCA input only and no adapter. Who it suits: the P32 fits a desktop listener who wants a tube stage and a power supply in the box. The U10 suits those who want a little more power and can supply 5V at 2A; the P10 and U3 suit those who would rather have more power per dollar without tubes.
Shipping, returns and warranty
- Shipping: Douk Audio's current shipping page says orders are generally processed no later than the next business day and arrive in 2-8 business days, with duties, taxes and customs fees included in the checkout price unless noted otherwise.
- Older shipping terms are still online: airmail at 10-25 days for parcels under 2 kg, DHL, UPS or FedEx at 5-8 days above that, and a line saying the store is not responsible for import duties. Check the delivery estimate and any duties at checkout.
- Returns: ask within 30 days of delivery and wait for approval before sending anything; an approved return has to ship within 7 days. Items need all packaging and accessories and no excessive wear, or the store can refuse them or refund part of the price. Refunds go to the original payment method after inspection.
- Not refunded: original and expedited shipping, duties, taxes and customs charges, unless the law requires it or the store made the error. The return page does not say who pays return postage, and the older refund page excludes mistaken orders and change-of-mind returns from free after-sale service.
- Warranty: 24 months from purchase for manufacturing defects, with free repair, a replacement unit and free shipping both ways for covered repairs. Drops, liquid, DIY repairs, lightning, extreme temperatures and misuse are excluded (partial fees may apply), and damage from weak packing on the way back may not be covered. The older refund page still says 1 year.
- Seller: the site is run by Shenzhen Anba Technology Co., Ltd (Shenzhen, China) and HONGKONG LONGSHENG Import and Export Trading Co., Limited (Hong Kong); support is by email at [email protected]. These terms cover orders placed on doukaudio.com; other sellers apply their own.
For this product, the page lists shipping to US, UK, EU, AU and Other (a destination list, with no warehouses named) and shows Free Shipping, 2-8 Days Arrival, 30-Day Return and 2-Year Warranty badges near the price.
What we liked
- Up to 1000mW at 32 ohm drives everything from sensitive earbuds to high-impedance headphones rated 24-600 ohm
- Doubles as a tube preamp: feed it from the 3.5mm jack to add warmth to active desktop speakers or a home power amplifier
- No adapter hunting: RCA and 3.5mm AUX inputs, plus both 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone outputs built in
- Tweakable by design with pluggable 6J5 tubes (compatible with 6J1, 5654, 6AK5, EF95) and two socketed NE5532 op-amps
- Compact, plug-and-play desktop format for PCs, phones, TVs and tablets
Worth noting
- Needs at least 2A of current — the brand says to use the included DC 5V/2A adapter or an equivalent supply or it may not function properly
- Do not connect both the RCA and AUX inputs at once: the description notes both sets of inputs and outputs run simultaneously and signals will mix
- Analog only — there is no DAC or digital input, so your source must provide an RCA or 3.5mm analog output

What we couldn’t verify
- Name: the page title and Parameters say P32, while the page address contains 'ns-08e'. The review follows the page and calls it the P32.
- At least 1000mW at 32Ω, an SNR of 110dB or more and a 24V swing have no stated distortion or test conditions, and the page gives no THD figure.
- 'Without any distracting background hiss' and 'loud, clear, and dynamic sound' in the features are maker descriptions, not measurements.
- The page names four replacement tubes (6J1, 5654, 6AK5, EF95) and sends buyers to the manual for the full compatibility list.
- Supply: the page says to use the supplied DC 5V/2A adapter and gives a 5.5 x 2.5mm input, but not which plug type ships to each region.
