Our verdict

Suits buyers who want a nine-driver set with dynamic, armature, planar and bone conduction units and a cable whose construction the page itemizes, with 18 Ohms and 108dB @1kHz on the page. Look elsewhere if you want a 3.5mm option in the store's list, a stated distortion figure or any measurement from outside the store. The sound and efficiency claims are the page's words.

Why 3.5/5: Its terms and its evidence both hold it back: the store's own terms contradict each other, and no independent test was checked for this review, so every figure is the store's own.

Per the page, nine drivers of four types make up the Effect Audio Perseus: two 8mm LSR dynamic drivers, two Sonion 2300 balanced armatures, four planar magnetic tweeters and a PTZ bone conduction unit, split by a 4-way crossover, and the page lists it at $999. The specification section gives 18 Ohms and 108dB, both at 1kHz, and a 10Hz ~ 40kHz range. The page text names the cable ORDINIS and lists its materials and a length of 120cm ± 5cm.

Options and pricing

The store lists one option, Perseus OFC 4.4mm, at $999, orderable when the page was read. The specification section gives a ConX 2pin connection as the default and an EA gold-plated copper straight plug in 3.5/4.4mm, but the option list shows only the 4.4mm option. The page says the box holds the ORDINIS cable, two sets of eartips (ARC Oval and Symbio F, each in S, M and L), a carrying case, a cleaning tool and a microfiber cloth.

How it compares

The Unique Melody MEXT is also $999 and its listing names a UM Copper M1 custom cable. The FiiO FA19 is $999.99 and names 10 BA drivers from Knowles, against the Perseus's mix of dynamic, armature, planar and bone conduction units. The Softears Twilight is $930 with a 10mm dynamic driver. The Perseus suits buyers who want a mixed-driver design with an itemized cable; the FA19 suits those who want 10 armatures, and the Twilight those who want a 10mm dynamic driver at a lower listed price.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Nine drivers of four types (dynamic, balanced armature, planar magnetic, bone conduction) with a 4-way crossover, per the page
  • Impedance (18 Ohms @1kHz) and sensitivity (108dB @1kHz) are listed with a test frequency
  • The cable construction is itemized: 26 AWG, 8 wires, UP-OCC, 120cm ± 5cm, with named materials
  • The page lists what is in the box, including two eartip sets and a carrying case

Worth noting

  • Sensitivity (108dB @1kHz) has no reference level stated, such as dB/mW or dB/Vrms
  • The option is named OFC while the cable section lists UP-OCC smelting and silver and copper materials; the page text mentions OFC nowhere else
  • The page text gives no earpiece weight, shell dimensions or distortion figure

Questions before you buy

Which drivers does the Perseus combine?

The page lists two 8mm LSR dynamic drivers for lows, two customized Sonion 2300 balanced armatures for mids, four planar magnetic tweeters for highs and one PTZ bone conduction unit for imaging, with a 4-way crossover system.

What impedance and sensitivity does it list?

18 Ohms @1kHz and 108dB @1kHz, with a frequency response of 10Hz ~ 40kHz. The sensitivity has no reference level stated, and the page says it can be driven with ease across portable sources without naming a source requirement.

Which cable and plugs come with the listed option?

The option is named Perseus OFC 4.4mm. The page lists a ConX 2pin connection as the default and an EA gold-plated copper straight plug in 3.5/4.4mm, and describes the ORDINIS cable as 26 AWG with 8 wires, UP-OCC and 120cm ± 5cm.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • The page says the design can be driven with ease across a range of portable sources; the page text gives 18 Ohms and 108dB @1kHz but no source requirement, and the sensitivity has no reference level stated.
  • The option is named OFC, while the cable section lists UP-OCC smelting and silver and copper materials; the page text does not say how the two relate.
  • The page description is three pictures, so the figures here come from the specification section text. The sound descriptions (neutral, controlled bass, precise imaging) are the page's words.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
