Our verdict

Fits buyers who want a two-chip DAC at $3,299 with two I2S inputs, stated output levels and a numbered parameter list. Look elsewhere if you want clearly written specifications or an independent test (none was checked for this review), since parts of the page text are unclear and its figures are the store's own. The page text lists no Bluetooth or network input.

Why 3.4/5: Held back by its parameters sitting in the description rather than a specification section, by the store's own terms contradicting each other, and because no independent test of this model was checked for this review.

The page lists the MH-DA005 at $3,299 as a desktop DAC with two ES9038pro chips. The page's parameter list names seven inputs (USB, coaxial 1, coaxial 2, optical fiber, AES/EBU, I2S-E and I2S-H), RCA output at 2Vrms and XLR output at 4Vrms, and a dynamic range over 136db with distortion under 0.0002%. It also states a 9.0 kg net weight, a VFD display and a remote with a standby function.

Options and pricing

Two colors are listed, Black and Silver, both at $3,299 and orderable when the page was read. The packing list names a remote control, an American Standard power cord, a USB cable, a T2 hexagon screwdriver and a USB flash disk holding the electronic instructions. The page gives a power supply voltage of 100 ~ 120V or 200 ~ 240V as optional without saying in its text how it is chosen.

How it compares

The SMSL VMV D3 is $3,499.99 with PCM1704 R-2R named in its title, while this DAC is $3,299 with ES9038pro. The Gustard R26 II costs $1,649.99 and lists a fully discrete R2R ladder, network streaming and Bluetooth in its title, and the SMSL VMV D2R MK2 is $1,160. The MH-DA005 suits buyers who want I2S-E and I2S-H inputs and a 9.0 kg build; the R26 II suits those who want streaming.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Two ES9038pro chips with seven inputs, including two I2S options (I2S-E and I2S-H)
  • Output levels are stated: RCA 2Vrms single-ended and XLR 4Vrms balanced
  • Rates are listed per input: PCM44 ~ 384K and DSD64 ~ DSD512 on USB, PCM44 ~ PCM192K on coaxial, optical fiber and AES/EBU
  • Digital volume in 0.5db steps that can be skipped, plus selectable digital filters and DPLL settings
  • Dynamic range, distortion, stereo separation and frequency response figures are given

Worth noting

  • The page text has unclear lines, such as 'The motherboard is made of six layers of heavy metal'
  • The page gives four clocks for the whole machine in two places but three clocks in another sentence
  • The page text does not explain 'Rated Power:16W' and lists no Bluetooth or network input

Questions before you buy

Which inputs and sample rates does the MH-DA005 list?

Inputs: USB, coaxial 1, coaxial 2, optical fiber, AES/EBU, I2S-E and I2S-H. USB takes PCM44 ~ 384K and DSD64 ~ DSD512; I2S-E and I2S-H take PCM44 ~ PCM384K and DSD64 ~ DSD512 (Dop64x); coaxial, optical fiber and AES/EBU take PCM44 ~ PCM192K and Dop64.

What output levels does it list?

RCA single-ended output at 2Vrms and XLR balanced output at 4Vrms, per the page. It also lists dynamic range over 136db, distortion under 0.0002%, stereo separation over 120db and frequency response 0-20kHz ±0.2dB.

What power supply voltage does it list?

The parameters give 'Power supply voltage: 100 ~ 120V or 200 ~ 240V optional' and 'Rated Power:16W'. The page text does not say how the voltage is chosen or what the rated power refers to.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • The page says four clocks serve the whole machine, then three low-sideband-noise clocks further on; it also claims its clocks exceed the Crystek CCHD957 and CCHD575 series, with no data in the page text.
  • Several lines of the text are unclear (for example 'six layers of heavy metal'); the page text does not explain 'Rated Power:16W' or 'Can Be turned on and off to enhance the function'.
  • Dynamic range over 136db, distortion under 0.0002% and stereo separation over 120db are the page's claims, with no test conditions in the page text.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
