Our verdict

A match for a buyer after a ridged gold ring in a choice of slim or chunky width, in size 6, 7 or 8. Look elsewhere if you need a larger size or a measured thickness for the gold layer. The main caveat is the construction: the listing describes 18K gold layered on stainless steel, not solid gold, and gives no figure for the gold layer.

Best for
A wearer who wants a textured ring in either a slim or a chunky width and takes size 6, 7 or 8.
Skip if
You need a size above 8, solid gold, or a stated thickness for the gold layer.

Why 3.5/5: Nothing on the page earns extra credit; held back by the store's no-returns, no-refunds policy (a damaged or defective item gets an exchange or repair).

Ridges give the Benin Ring its texture: the listing describes a gold ring with textured ridges, named after Benin City in southern Nigeria, in thick 18K gold layered on stainless steel. It comes in a slim style with more defined ridges and a thicker, chunkier style with looser ridges. Lola Ade lists it from $64.99 for Slim and $69.99 for Thick, in sizes 6, 7 and 8, across 6 variants.

Options and pricing

Two choices combine into six variants. Width is Slim at $64.99, approximately 4 mm, or Thick at $69.99, approximately 7.5 mm, and size is 6, 7 or 8. The listing says Slim has more defined ridges and Thick is a chunkier style with looser ridges. Price depends on the width only; the three sizes cost the same within each width. A printable Ring Sizer Guide is linked, and sizes stop at 8.

How it compares

The Yuri Ring is $69.99, the same as Benin's Thick, and lists the same thick 18K gold layered on stainless steel, with no widths in its spec. The Satunse Adjustable Ring is $74.99 and adjustable, where Benin comes in set sizes 6 to 8. The Pave Chain Link Ring is also $74.99, named for a pave chain link design, and its spec line repeats the 18K gold layering.

Shipping, returns and warranty

Shipping: the Shipping & Returns page says US orders over $100 ship free and that Demi-Fine Collection orders are usually mailed by USPS First Class within 5 to 7 business days of purchase, excluding holidays, unless the product page says otherwise (USPS Priority Mail is available for a faster carrier service but does not shorten processing). International shipping is offered for the Demi-Fine Collection to select countries by USPS International, and the buyer is responsible for import taxes and duties. Returns: the Shipping & Returns page says the store cannot accept returns on these limited, handmade or made-to-order items; if an item arrives damaged or defective, contact the store within 14 days of delivery for an exchange or repair of the same item, which must be in its original packaging with no sign of wear. The FAQ says all fine jewelry sales are final and that returns, refunds and exchanges are not accepted, with a repair offered for faulty items, and the sales terms add that sale items cannot be returned or exchanged. The refund policy page grants a 14-day cooling-off right to orders shipped into the European Union. Resizing: the FAQ says one complimentary resizing is offered within the first 6 months and certain ring styles can be resized up to 2 sizes up or down; after 6 months it costs $80 for gold and $100 for platinum. Warranty: the FAQ describes a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects for the store's fine jewelry; it does not say whether this demi-fine piece is covered, so ask the store before relying on it. Discount code: the sales terms say codes must be entered at checkout, only one code can be used per order and promotions exclude gift cards and custom orders unless stated otherwise; some products can also be excluded, so check that the FACESTORE code takes 10% off this item before you pay.

Before you buy

Lola Ade says it is a Black woman-owned fine jewelry brand based in Los Angeles that sells online only, founded by Pamela Adewoyin James, whom its About page calls a GIA-certified diamond professional and practicing attorney. The page says she has handcrafted jewelry since 2010 and launched an engagement ring collection in 2024. A July 2026 SHEEN Magazine interview tells a similar story, but it is a profile, not a product test, and searches on 20 October 2026 found no Trustpilot, BBB or Reddit page for the store. The store's own reviews page shows 40 reviews, 38 of them five-star and 2 four-star; that widget is the store's display and was not verified. Its giving program ("a portion of every fine jewelry purchase" supports clean water access in Africa, and a portion of each engagement ring sale per its community page) names no amount. There is no showroom, so you cannot see a piece in person, and the pages disagree on whether a damaged item gets an exchange or only a repair; ask for the remedy in writing before you order.

What we couldn’t verify

  • The material line includes a skin-comfort claim that we could not check.
  • The gold layer is called thick but no thickness is given, and no weight, ridge depth or band thickness is stated.
  • The mm figures are listed under Size for Slim and Thick, while the option is named Width; the page does not spell out what is measured.
  • Independent testing of this piece: none found; the only outside coverage located is an interview-style profile of the founder (SHEEN Magazine, July 2026).
  • The store's pages disagree on exchange versus repair for a damaged item.
  • The store's 40-review widget and its clean-water giving claim are its own statements and were not verified.
  • Whether the FACESTORE code applies to this item was not tested; the sales terms exclude custom orders and some products.
