Moondrop Chu II DSP USB-C IEMs Review
A USB-C in-ear monitor with a 10mm dynamic driver, listed at $27.99. The page gives 18Ω ±15% and 119dB/Vrms and says its DSP offers three switchable tuning profiles in the Moondrop Link 2.0 app. It suits buyers who want IEMs that connect over USB Type-C.

Our verdict
A fit for buyers who want a Type-C IEM with the DSP the page describes and a 10mm dynamic driver at $27.99, with 18Ω ±15% and 119dB/Vrms on the page. Look elsewhere if you need a stated list of compatible phones, a named DAC chip or any measurement from outside the store. The DSP, tuning and sound claims are the page's words, and every figure here is the store's own.

Why 3.6/5: Lifted by the specification figures in the page text; held back by the store's own terms, which contradict each other, and because no independent test was checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.
Moondrop's Chu II DSP is described on the page as a USB Type-C terminated variant of the Chu II in-ear monitor, listed at $27.99 as a single option. The page lists a 10mm dynamic driver, and its specification section gives 18Ω ±15%, 119dB/Vrms and 15Hz-38kHz. The page says three tuning profiles can be switched in the Moondrop Link 2.0 app, and the cable connects to the earpieces through 0.78mm 2-pin connectors.

Options and pricing
One option, Chu II DSP, is listed at $27.99 and was orderable when the page was read. The page says the cable is Type-C terminated by default, calls it interchangeable and names standard 0.78mm two-pin connectors, adding that upgrade cables and Bluetooth cables can be used. It also lists an in-line microphone and replaceable nozzle filters. The page text gives no box contents, so ear tips and spare filters are not stated.
How it compares
The Moondrop ChuII / Chu2 Dynamic Driver In-Ear Headphone is listed at $22.99 with a 10mm dynamic driver, against $27.99 here for a model whose page describes a USB Type-C DSP cable. The Moondrop CHU III / CHU 3 10mm Composite Diaphragm Dynamic Driver IEMs cost $24.99, and the Moondrop POSITION 10mm Dynamic Driver Gaming IEMs cost $34.99. The Chu II DSP suits buyers who want the Type-C cable and app profiles the page describes; the ChuII, at $22.99, is the lowest price among these four.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- Page lists 18Ω ±15%, 119dB/Vrms, THD+N of ≤0.5% and a 15Hz-38kHz frequency response
- USB Type-C terminated cable with three switchable tuning profiles in the Moondrop Link 2.0 app, per the page
- The page calls the cable interchangeable, on standard 0.78mm two-pin connectors
- In-line microphone and replaceable nozzle filters are listed
Worth noting
- The page text names no DAC chip, sample rate or supported phone models for the USB Type-C DSP cable
- The page text does not say what the three tuning profiles are
- The page text gives THD+N as ≤0.5% with no test frequency
- The page text gives no box contents and no weight figure
Questions before you buy
What driver and impedance does the Chu II DSP list?
The page lists a 10mm dynamic driver with an aluminum-magnesium alloy composite diaphragm dome and an ultra-thin CCAW voice coil, plus 18Ω ±15%, 119dB/Vrms, THD+N of ≤0.5% and a 15Hz-38kHz frequency response with an effective range of 20Hz-20kHz.
How does the USB Type-C cable connect, and can it be swapped?
The cable is USB Type-C terminated by default and joins the earpieces through standard 0.78mm two-pin connectors. The page lists an interchangeable cable and says upgrade cables and Bluetooth cables can be used. It also lists an in-line microphone.
What does the DSP do?
The page says the Moondrop Link 2.0 app on a smartphone gives access to three tuning profiles that can be switched, and to what it calls unlimited tuning possibilities through online interactive DSP. These are the page's claims; the page text does not describe the profiles or give any measurement.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- The DSP and tuning claims (three switchable profiles, 'unlimited tuning possibilities', a tuning in line with the VDSF target, sound called refined and richer than the original Chu II) are the page's words; the page text gives no measurement behind them.
- The page text gives no phone compatibility, DAC chip or sample rate for the USB Type-C cable, and no test frequency for the THD+N figure of ≤0.5%.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
