SHANLING M1 Plus Music Player Review
A portable music player that HiFiGO lists at $209 for the Black unit. The page's pictures name an ESS ES9069Q DAC, 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs, two-way Bluetooth 5.2 and microSD storage. It suits listeners who want a balanced output and Bluetooth in a 116g player.

Our verdict
A fit for listeners who want a 4.4mm balanced output, microSD storage and two-way Bluetooth 5.2 in a 116g player listed at $209. Look elsewhere if you need offline Tidal downloads (a pictured note says they are not available), a spec list written as text, or a color other than Black, since the Silver unit was sold out when read. Every spec figure comes from pictures on HiFiGO's page, and no independent test was checked for this review.
- Best for
- Listeners who want a 4.4mm balanced output and two-way Bluetooth in a 116g player.
- Skip if
- You want offline Tidal downloads, which a pictured note says are not available, or a specification list written as page text.
Why 3.3/5: Held back by a page whose whole description is seven pictures with no specification text, by the store's own terms contradicting each other, and because no independent test was checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.

Options and pricing
Six options are listed. The M1 Plus-Black at $209 was orderable when the page was read, while the M1 Plus-Silver at $209 was sold out. M1 Plus-Black with Case and M1 Plus-Silver with Case, at $219 each, were also sold out. Green Case only and Black Case only are accessories sold alone at $12 each, and both were sold out. The pictures' box list names a USB A to USB-C cable, a screen protector and a manual.
How it compares
The HiBy RS2 II R2R HiFi Pure Audio Player is listed at $439 and the FiiO M33 R2R Portable Music Player at $699.99, against $209 here; both names point to R2R designs, while the M1 Plus pictures name an ESS ES9069Q chip. The FiiO SNOWSKY Echo Mini 512MB Portable Music Player is $67.99. The Echo Mini is the lowest of the four prices. Buyers who specifically want an R2R design should look at the HiBy or the M33; those who want a 4.4mm balanced output for $209 can look at the M1 Plus.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- The pictures name an ESS ES9069Q DAC and give both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs
- Output power is pictured with its load: 195mW and 661mW at 32Ω on high gain (3.5mm and 4.4mm)
- Two-way Bluetooth 5.2 with LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC listed in the pictures
- microSD storage up to 2TB and a 3.5mm coaxial SPDIF digital output (PCM 192kHz/24bit), per the pictures
- Size and weight are pictured: 86 x 61 x 17mm and 116g
Worth noting
- The description is seven pictures with no specification text, so every spec figure is a pictured claim
- Five of the six options were sold out when read; only the Black unit at $209 could be ordered
- Battery figures (12.5h single-ended, 10h balanced) come with a pictured footnote about Shanling's own performance test and a note that actual use may differ
- A pictured note says the Tidal integration is online playback only: offline downloads are not available
- The pictures read for this review give output power only at 32Ω, with no figure for other loads
Questions before you buy
Which headphone outputs does the M1 Plus list, and at what power?
The pictures list a 3.5mm single-ended and a 4.4mm balanced output. At 32Ω the 3.5mm output is pictured at 47mW on low gain and 195mW on high gain, and the 4.4mm output at 187mW on low gain and 661mW on high gain. The pictures read for this review give no figures for other loads.
Which Bluetooth codecs and storage does it list?
Two-way Bluetooth 5.2 with LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC, and microSD cards up to 2TB, per the pictures. One picture says it can act as a source for Bluetooth headphones and speakers or as a Bluetooth DAC/amp for a smartphone.
What battery life does the page list?
The pictures give 12.5h single-ended, 10h balanced and 24h as a Bluetooth transmitter from a 2100mAh battery; a battery banner adds 270 hours of standby and mentions accelerated 15W charging. A footnote on that banner credits Shanling's own performance test and says actual use may differ; the pictures read for this review give no test conditions.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- Battery figures (12.5h single-ended, 10h balanced, 24h Bluetooth transmitter, 270 hours standby) are pictured claims; a banner footnote credits Shanling's own performance test and says actual use may differ, and the pictures read for this review give no test conditions.
- Claims in the pictures are unchecked: Hi-Res support of 768 kHz/32 bit and DSD 512, the Ingenic X2000 platform, the Tidal integration and the features of the Eddict Player App.
- The pictures we read do not say whether the 32Ω power figures are per channel, or at what distortion level they were taken.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
