SKW HF004 Power Cord Review

A power cord from SKW, listed from $149.99 for 1m to $279.99 for 5m, with options named European regulations and U.S. regulations. Its pictures name a 24k gold-plated connector and disagree on the conductor, so it suits buyers who can work from picture-only details.

Our verdict

Suits buyers who want a power cord in a set length from 1m to 5m and can work from picture-only details. Look elsewhere if you need a stated plug standard, an electrical rating or one settled conductor description. The main caveat is that the pictures disagree on the conductor and two of them are generic audio-cable banners, so the conductor, plating and wire details here are the pictures' own wording.

Why 3.3/5: Held back by a page with no specification list as text, whose details sit in pictures that disagree on the conductor; by the store's own terms, which contradict each other; and by no independent test of this model being checked for this review.

The HF004 is a power cord from SKW that the store lists from $149.99 for 1m, with 1.5m at $179.99, 2m at $199.99, 3m at $229.99 and 5m at $279.99, each in two options named European regulations and U.S. regulations. Its description is seven pictures without text. They name a 24k gold-plated connector and a 6mm thick wire, and they disagree on whether the conductor is single crystal copper or oxygen-free copper.

Options and pricing

Ten options are listed and all were orderable when read: European regulations or U.S. regulations, each in 1m at $149.99, 1.5m at $179.99, 2m at $199.99, 3m at $229.99 and 5m at $279.99. The option group is labelled color, but its values are the two regulation names. The pictures read show only one plug type and name no plug standard, so what separates the two regulation options is not stated there. Picture 02 includes a photo of the whole cable coiled.

How it compares

The SKW SK-HF2001B RCA To RCA 6N High-Purity Copper HIFI Audio Cable also starts at $149.99, but its name says RCA To RCA audio cable, not a power cord. The SKW BG09 - 3 Pin XLR Male To Female 6N High-purity copper Cable ( Pair ) starts at $89.99 and its spec line names 24-K Gold-Plated XLR Connectors, while this cord's pictures name a 24k gold-plated connector. The HF004 is the one named as a power cord; the other two are named as an RCA To RCA audio cable and a 3 Pin XLR Male To Female cable.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

Cables and adapters get three months of warranty from the order date, against one year for DACs, amps and IEMs; a note on the same page also excludes cables from returns for hygiene reasons, while the FAQ says a cable can come back in its original condition. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement and the buyer pays the shipping. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

Worth noting

  • The store title says US/EU Type Plug, but the pictures read show only a round-pin plug and name no plug standard or second plug type
  • The pictures read give no electrical rating, wire gauge or weight, and two of the seven pictures are generic audio-cable banners
  • The sound, interference and signal wording in the pictures comes with no measurement in the pictures read

Which conductor do the pictures name?

They disagree. Picture 04 labels a single crystal copper conductor, while pictures 03 and 05 say oxygen-free copper. Picture 05 also prints a 6mm thick wire line and picture 03 a 24k gold-plated connector.

Which plug does it have?

The photos show a plug with two round gold-coloured pins on a black housing at one end and a black female connector with three holes at the other. The store title says US/EU Type Plug, but the pictures read name no plug standard and show no second plug type.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What we couldn’t verify

  • The store title says US/EU Type Plug and the options name European and U.S. regulations, but the pictures read show only a round-pin plug and name no US plug or plug choice.
  • Picture 04 labels the conductor single crystal copper conductor while pictures 03 and 05 say Oxygen-free copper. Pictures 01 and 02 are generic audio-cable banners (speakers to a TV, PC or phone; input and output device icons) that do not describe a power cord.
  • Sound and interference wording in the pictures (a purer sound, low-loss transmission, a shock-absorbing line, stable signal) comes with no measurement in the pictures read.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
  • HiFiGO's warranty page excludes cables from returns for hygiene reasons, while its FAQ says a cable can come back in its original condition.
