Our verdict

A fit for buyers who already own gear with a clock input, such as the PL200T and D200 in the connecting diagram, and want the four 10MHz BNC outputs its pictures list. Look elsewhere if you need a DAC or an audio interface, or an outside measurement of the phase-noise and accuracy claims. The main caveat is that its pictures give claims and no independent test was checked for this review: every figure is the page's own.

Why 3.3/5: Held back by the lack of a written specification list, by claims that sit in pictures (five were not opened), by the store's own terms contradicting each other, and by figures that no independent test was checked for.

A master clock rather than a DAC, the SMSL G1 is listed at $529 in a single option. A spec table pictured on the page gives four BNC outputs at 10MHz with 50/75Ω impedance and a 3.3Vp-p square-wave level, an OCXO with frequency accuracy of ±3 ppb, and power from AC 100V to 240V or a DC 9V-15V jack. A connecting diagram wires the CH1 and CH2 outputs to a PL200T transport and a D200 DAC.

Options and pricing

One option, named G1, is listed at $529 and was orderable when the page was read. The pictures show a front indicator that is blue for AC input and red for DC input, a rear DC jack for 9V-15V at 1A with a 5.5x2.1 mm plug, and a rear AC input for 100V to 240V. A pairing picture names an SMSL T2 CD transport, D2R DAC and P2 headphone amp, but none of them is among the options listed.

How it compares

The G1 is named a clock generator, so it is a clock source rather than an interface or DAC. The SMSL RAW-DAC1 AK4499ex+AK4191 Bluetooth 5.1 DAC at $499.99 is named a DAC, and the LADDER Boya USB Interface at $459.99 is named a USB interface, against $529 for the G1. The DAART Yulong DP1 Network / USB Digital Interface at $939 is named a digital interface. Buyers who need a DAC or an interface should look at those; the G1 suits a chain that already has gear with a clock input.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Four BNC outputs listed at 10MHz; a pictured connecting diagram uses two of them for a transport and a DAC
  • Frequency accuracy and frequency-temperature characteristic are both listed within ±3 ppb in the pictured table
  • Runs from AC 100V to 240V or from a DC 9V-15V jack, per the pictures
  • Power draw is listed at 12W while heating and 3W in normal use, per the pictures
  • Operating temperature, humidity and storage ranges are given in the pictured spec table

Worth noting

  • A picture suggests about 10 minutes of warm-up before use, although stabilization is listed at about 2 minutes
  • The OCXO part label reads 10,000,000MHz while the outputs are listed as 10MHz
  • The size drawing carries a note that its measurement data may have a slight error

Questions before you buy

What outputs does the SMSL G1 have?

A spec table pictured on the page lists four BNC connectors at 10MHz (printed as Output Sample Rate), 50/75Ω output impedance and a square-wave level of 3.3Vp-p. The rear panel labels them CH1 to CH4.

How much warm-up time does it list?

The table lists about 2 minutes of oscillator stabilization after power-on. The same picture says the oscillator keeps improving as the oven temperature changes and suggests a warm-up of about 10 minutes before use.

How is it powered?

The pictures list AC 100V to 240V, 50/60Hz, or a DC 9V-15V, 1A input with a 5.5x2.1 mm plug, and a front indicator that is blue for AC and red for DC. Power consumption is listed as 12W during heating and 3W in normal use.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • Pictures claim phase noise of -105 dBc/Hz at 1 Hz, accuracy better than ±3 ppb, noise as low as 6 uVrms and independent buffering; these are claims in pictures, not figures from an independent test.
  • The OCXO part label reads 10,000,000MHz while the outputs are given as 10MHz, and the size drawing notes a slight error in its measurements. Pictures 00, 01, 05, 07 and 08 were not opened, so nothing from them is used.
  • A pairing picture presents the G1 with SMSL's T2 transport, D2R DAC and P2 headphone amp and claims zero deviation at every step of transmission; no independent test of this model was checked for this review.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
