Softears Studio4 IEMs Review
An in-ear monitor with four balanced armature drivers per side, listed at $449 and presented on the page for studio recording and stage monitoring. It suits buyers who want that use with a 3.5mm single-ended plug; the spec section gives 12Ω and 123dB/Vrms.

Our verdict
A pick for buyers who want an all-balanced-armature IEM that the page presents for studio and stage use, with a 3.5mm single-ended plug. Look elsewhere if you want a dynamic driver, a balanced plug option, or a Starry Version described in the page text. The main caveat is that the flat-tuning and studio claims are the page's words, with no measurement in the page text beyond the figures listed.
- Best for
- Buyers who want a four-balanced-armature IEM presented for studio and stage use with a 3.5mm plug.
- Skip if
- You want a dynamic driver, a balanced plug option or a described Starry Version.
Why 3.6/5: Helped by the specification figures the page text lists; held back by contradictory store terms and by page figures that were not checked against an outside test for this review.
The Studio4 is Softears' four-balanced-armature model in its Studio series, and the page says Softears tuned it to a flat frequency response for studio recording and stage monitoring. HiFiGO lists it at $449. The spec section gives 12Ω impedance, 123dB/Vrms sensitivity and a 5Hz-40kHz range, and the cable has 0.78mm 2-pin connectors with a 3.5mm single-ended plug.

Options and pricing
One option is listed, named Studio4, at $449 and orderable when read. The store title also names a Studio4 Starry Version, but the options list holds no Starry entry and the page text does not describe a separate version. The cable has 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and a 3.5mm single-ended plug; the page text names no balanced plug option, no color choice and no box list.
How it compares
The Hisenior Mega7 is also $449 and is named 1DD+6BA, a hybrid against four balanced armatures here. The Simphonio PB10 is $449.99 and is named as a planar plus balanced armature model. The Softears EDGE is $499 and its spec line gives an 11mm labyrinth-structured dynamic driver. The Studio4 suits buyers who want only balanced armature drivers; the EDGE suits those who want a dynamic driver from the same brand.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- Four balanced armature drivers per side behind a 3-way crossover, per the page
- The spec section lists impedance, sensitivity, THD+N and two frequency ranges
- Stock cable has 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and a stated 3.5mm plug
- The page says Softears tuned the set to a flat response for studio and stage monitoring
Worth noting
- The store title names a Starry Version, but only a Studio4 option is listed and the text does not describe a Starry Version
- Only a 3.5mm single-ended plug is listed; the page text names no balanced option
- The page text gives no weight figure, box list or ear tip list

What we couldn’t verify
- The store title names a Studio4 Starry Version, but the only option is Studio4 and the page text does not describe a Starry Version.
- The page text gives a 5Hz-40kHz range and an effective 20Hz-20kHz range, plus a THD+N line below 1%. The curve note's third-party measurement has no named source or data in the page text, and the flat-tuning, high-res and easy-to-drive claims have no measurement.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
