FiiO FT1 Closed-Back Headphones Review
A closed-back over-ear headphone with a 60mm dynamic driver and wood ear cups, listed at $159.99 in two wood options. Its pictures give 32Ω impedance and show 3.5mm and 4.4mm cables in the parts list. It suits wired listeners who want a closed back and a balanced cable option.

Our verdict
Suits wired listeners who want a closed-back headphone with 3.5mm and 4.4mm cables in the pictured parts list and a stated 32Ω impedance. Look elsewhere if you need an open back, a confirmed wood for each option or a figure from an outside test. The chief caveat is that the claims sit in 23 pictures, only 8 of them opened for this review.

Why 3.3/5: Held back by a page whose text gives no specification list, by claims that sit mostly in pictures (only 8 of 23 opened), by the store's own terms that contradict each other, and because no independent test was checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.
Closed-back with a 60mm dynamic driver, the FiiO FT1 is listed at $159.99 in Black Wood and Beech Wood options. Its description is 23 pictures rather than text. They give 32Ω, 98dB/mW@1kHz and 113dB/Vrms@1kHz, 10Hz-40kHz, a weight of 340g excluding cable and a cable length of about 1.5m, and a parts list shows both a 3.5mm and a 4.4mm cable.

Options and pricing
FT1-Black Wood and FT1-Beech Wood are the two options listed, each at $159.99 and orderable when the page was read. A spec picture lists the ear cup material as Black walnut/Beech, with the note "expected to be available in Oct." and no year printed. The pictured parts list names the headphones, a storage bag, the FT1 packaging box, a 3.5mm headphone cable, a 4.4mm balanced cable, a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter and a quick start guide.
How it compares
Set against the FiiO FT1 Pro Planar Diaphragm Driver Open-Back Headphone at $199.99, which is named open-back with a planar diaphragm driver and lists 7Hz-40kHz, the FT1 is $159.99 with a closed-back 60mm dynamic driver and 10Hz-40kHz. The SIVGA ANSER 50mm Dynamic Drivers Open-Back Wood Headphone costs $219 and is named open-back with 50mm dynamic drivers. The FT1 suits listeners who want a closed back; the other two suit those who want an open back.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
FiiO's own notice "A letter to FiiO fans" (undated) lists HiFiGo among sellers it has not authorized and recommends buying FiiO products from local agents. FiiO says it still services genuine products bought from such sellers if the buyer emails [email protected], but the buyer pays the freight and duties if a unit must go back to China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- The pictured specifications give 32Ω, 98dB/mW@1kHz and 113dB/Vrms@1kHz, with 10Hz-40kHz and a weight of 340g excluding cable
- 3.5mm and 4.4mm cables and a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter appear in the pictured parts list
- A picture credits FIIO Labs with -26dB sound insulation against -13dB for same-class closed-back headphones
- The pictured specifications list earpad pressure (4.5N±0.3N) and cable length (about 1.5m)
Worth noting
- The description is 23 pictures with no specification list as text, and only 8 of them were opened for this review
- No picture read says which wood each option has: the pictured specifications read Black walnut/Beech with an expected-availability note and no year
- The sound insulation comparison is credited to FIIO Labs only, and no outside measurement was checked
Questions before you buy
What impedance and sensitivity does the FT1 list?
The pictured specifications give 32Ω, 98dB/mW@1kHz and 113dB/Vrms@1kHz. One selling-point tile prints 32Ω+ while another picture's feature line and the pictured specifications print 32Ω. No figure for the source power it needs appears in the pictures read.
Which cables and connectors does it use?
The pictured specifications list dual 3.5mm TRS headphone connectors and a 3.5mm/4.4mm audio cable plug, with a silver-plated oxygen-free copper cable of about 1.5m. The parts list names a 3.5mm headphone cable, a 4.4mm balanced cable and a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter.
What do the pictures say about the driver?
The pictured specifications give a 60mm dynamic driver. Other pictures describe a W-shaped suspension gasket, a 25mm diameter voice coil and a Nanowood fiber composite diaphragm, and say the gasket gives a 25.8% increase in effective vibrating area against typical similarly sized diaphragms. These are claims in the pictures.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].
