FiiO JM21 Android Music Player Review
A 13mm-thick Android music player with dual CS43198 DAC chips, 4.4mm and 3.5mm outputs and a 4.7-inch screen. The player is $269.99 in Blue or Black; the page's lower prices are a case and a screen film. It suits listeners who want a balanced output in a 13mm-thick body.

Our verdict
Suited to buyers who want a 13mm-thick Android player with 4.4mm and 3.5mm outputs, a balanced port and three gain levels. Look elsewhere if you need distortion, noise or sample-rate figures, a stated Bluetooth version or codec list, or Wi-Fi details, since the page text gives none of them. The main caveat is that every number is the store's own, and the page text gives the 700mW figure with no load.
- Best for
- Listeners who want a 13mm-thick Android player with 4.4mm and 3.5mm outputs, a balanced port and three gain levels.
- Skip if
- You need sample-rate, noise or distortion figures or a stated Bluetooth codec list.
Why 3.4/5: Held back by the lack of a specification list as text on the page, by store terms that contradict each other, and by figures that are all the store's own, with no independent test checked.
FiiO's JM21 is a 13mm-thick Android music player built around two CS43198 DAC chips and two independent SGM8262 op-amps, with 4.4mm and 3.5mm headphone outputs. The page gives up to 700mW per channel from the balanced port, a 4.7-inch screen and a weight of 156 grams. The player itself costs $269.99 in Blue or Black; the lower prices on the page belong to a case and a screen film.

Options and pricing
Four options are listed and all were orderable when the page was read: the SK-JM21 leather case at $25.99, the SF-JM21 tempered film at $5.99, and the player in Blue or Black (both named 4+64GB) at $269.99 each. The case and the film are accessories sold alone, so the lowest figure on the page is not the player's price. The page text lists no box contents and no memory card detail.
How it compares
The xDuoo X5 costs $209 and lists dual CS43131 chips, while the FiiO M21 costs $353.99 and its spec line gives a size of approximately 68mmx121mmx17mm against the 13mm thickness on this page. The HiBy R6 Gen III is $399 with dual ES9038Q2M chips. The JM21 suits buyers who want a listed Android 13 system and a 4.4mm output in a 13mm-thick body at $269.99; the X5 suits a smaller budget.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
FiiO's own notice "A letter to FiiO fans" (undated) lists HiFiGo among sellers it has not authorized and recommends buying FiiO products from local agents. FiiO says it still services genuine products bought from such sellers if the buyer emails [email protected], but the buyer pays the freight and duties if a unit must go back to China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

Questions before you buy
What DAC chips and outputs does the FiiO JM21 list?
The page lists two CS43198 DAC chips, described as 32-bit, with two independent SGM8262 op-amps in a fully balanced design. The headphone outputs are 4.4mm and 3.5mm, and SPDIF, USB and LO outputs are listed as supported.
How much power does the JM21 list, and for what load?
The page lists up to 700mW per channel through the balanced output port and three gain levels. The page text gives no load for that figure and no headphone impedance range, so matching it to a particular pair cannot be checked from the page text.
What battery life and system does the JM21 list?
The page says up to 12.5 hours on a full charge, with no playback conditions in the page text. The system is open Android 13 on an octa-core Snapdragon 680, and the player options are named 4+64GB.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- The page text gives the 700mW per channel figure with no load and the 12.5 hour battery figure with no playback conditions.
- A heading calls it the thinnest Hi-Res audio player out there, while the intro text says among the thinnest; no other player is named for comparison in the page text.
- The DAPS design claim (bypassing Android SRC) and the pure sound reproduction wording are the page's own, with no measurement in the page text.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
- FiiO's undated seller notice lists HiFiGo as an unauthorized seller; FiiO says it still services genuine units, with freight and duties paid by the buyer.
