HAKUGEI Gentleman Earphone Cable Review
A HAKUGEI earphone cable with 2.5mm, 3.5mm or 4.4mm plugs from $58, plus Type-C, Lightning and 3, 4 or 5 to 1 plug-set options, with the prices shown rising to $82. Its title names Litz 7N OCC Copper and a 5-in-1 switchable plug, while its pictures contradict each other on the wire.

Our verdict
Meant for buyers who want to choose a plug or plug set and an ear connector from the options listed, starting at $58, and who accept that the pictures disagree on the wire. Buyers who need one settled conductor description, an in-the-box list or a stated ear-connector range per option should look elsewhere. The main caveat is that the title and pictures give three different shield materials and two different core counts.
- Best for
- Buyers who want to pick a 2.5mm, 3.5mm or 4.4mm plug or a plug set with 0.78 2Pin or MMCX ends.
- Skip if
- You need one settled conductor description or a list of what each option includes.
Why 3.3/5: Held back by figures that sit in contradictory pictures rather than a text specification list, by the store's own terms contradicting each other, and by no independent test of this model being checked for this review.
HAKUGEI's Gentleman earphone cable starts at $58 for a single 2.5mm, 3.5mm or 4.4mm plug with 0.78 2Pin or MMCX ends, and its options go on to Type-C, Lightning and 3, 4 or 5 to 1 plug sets. The title names Litz 7N OCC Copper with a cotton fibre filled shield. The page has no description text; its pictures give a 1.25 meters length and a Dupont PVC RoHS jacket, but disagree with each other on the wire.

Options and pricing
Options are named by plug and ear connector, and every one shown was orderable when read. 2.5mm, 3.5mm or 4.4mm with 2Pin 0.78 or MMCX are $58 each. 2Pin 0.78-Type-C, MMCX-Type-C, 3 to 1-MMCX and 3 to 1-2Pin 0.78 are $66; MMCX Lightning and 2Pin 0.78-Lightning are $68; the two 4 to 1 options shown, Type-C and Lightning with 2Pin 0.78, are $82. Four more options, including 4 to 1 Lightning-MMCX and 5 to 1-MMCX, are not shown with prices. A photo headed packaging display shows the cable, a small box of plug modules and a zip case, but the pictures read give no printed list of what each option includes.
How it compares
The HAKUGEI Sound Of Thunder Litzs 6N OCC Copper Mixed Silver Earphone Cable is $60 and its title names 2Pin MMCX with 2.5 /3.5 /4.4 plugs, against $58 here for a single plug. The HAKUGEI Burning Modular Plug 5 To 1 Upgrade Earphone starts at $72, and its spec line lists 2.5 / 3.5 /4.4 / Type-C / Lightning. At $57.99 the OE Audio 2DualOFC High-Fidelity Earphone Cable sits close to the Gentleman's $58 entry price and gives its length in a spec line as 1.2m/4ft. The Gentleman suits buyers who want to pick a plug set.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
Cables and adapters get three months of warranty from the order date, against one year for DACs, amps and IEMs; a note on the same page also excludes cables from returns for hygiene reasons, while the FAQ says a cable can come back in its original condition. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement and the buyer pays the shipping. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

The pictures read do not say what each option contains.
What conductor does the page give?
The title and a picture's English line say litz 7N OCC copper with cotton fibre filled. Another picture describes 30% gold plated OCC, 30% litz silver plated OCC and 40% litz 6N OCC copper. The pictures also give both 160cores 21awg with 640cores in total and 24awg with 63 cores per wire.
Which plugs do the pictures show?
A pictured parameter line gives a modular plug with 5 to 1 (3.5/2.5/4.4 type-c ALC5686 PRO, Lightning C100), and a photo shows a 4.4-type plug on the cable plus loose 3.5, 2.5, Type-C and Lightning modules.

What we couldn’t verify
- The pictures conflict: 160cores 21awg and 640cores in total in one line, 24awg and 63 cores per wire in another; the conductor is litz 7N OCC copper in the title but a 30% gold plated, 30% litz silver plated, 40% litz 6N mix elsewhere, called OCC in one line and single crystal copper in others.
- The shield is called nylon, polyester and cotton in different places, the English name line says Lothar while the title says Gentleman, and the pictures list ear connectors (mmcx ie300, ie600, ie900, qdc, A2DC, Pentaconn Acoustune) without saying which come with this listing.
- A photo shows a Warranty Certificate card with unreadable terms and a pictured line is read as accepting custom orders; sound claims in a picture are wording only, and five of the pictures were not opened.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
- HiFiGO's warranty page excludes cables from returns for hygiene reasons, while its FAQ says a cable can come back in its original condition.
