Moondrop Echo-A 3.5mm USB-C DAC/Amp Review
A USB Type-C to 3.5mm portable DAC/amp from Moondrop, listed at $21.99. The page gives 32-bit/384kHz decoding and a 100dB(A-Weighted) SNR. It suits phone or laptop users who have 3.5mm headphones or IEMs and want a low price.

Our verdict
A low-priced option for phone or laptop users who want a USB Type-C to 3.5mm DAC/amp for IEMs or headphones with a 3.5mm plug. Look elsewhere if you need a stated output power, a balanced 4.4mm output or a named DAC chip. Every figure here is the store page's claim, and the output power figure missing from the page text is the main caveat.
- Best for
- Phone or laptop users with 3.5mm IEMs or headphones who want a low-priced USB-C DAC/amp.

Why 3.5/5: Held back by the store's own terms contradicting each other and by no independent test of this model being checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.
The Moondrop Echo-A is a USB Type-C to 3.5mm portable DAC/amp that the store lists at $21.99. Per the page, an unnamed advanced SoC chip handles decoding, processing and amplifying, with hardware decoding up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM. The spec section gives a 100dB(A-Weighted) SNR, a 102dB(A-Weighted) dynamic range and 0.01% THD+N at no load. The page says it needs no driver on computers, laptops, Android or iOS devices; the page text gives no output power figure.

Options and pricing
One option is listed, named Echo-A, at $21.99, and it was orderable when the page was read. It has a Type-C plug and a single 3.5mm headphone jack. The page text lists no cable, case or other accessory and does not describe the box contents.
How it compares
The Moondrop Echo-B is $24.99 against $21.99 here and swaps the 3.5mm jack for a 4.4mm one, so it needs a 4.4mm plug. The DUNU DTC 100 Pro is $38.90 and names its CS43198 DAC chip in the title, where the Echo-A page text names no chip model. The Echo-A suits a 3.5mm plug at the lowest price of the three; the Echo-B suits balanced headphones, and the DTC 100 Pro suits buyers who want a named chip.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- Low listed price of $21.99 for a USB Type-C to 3.5mm DAC/amp
- Spec section gives SNR, dynamic range and THD+N, with the THD+N conditions stated (AES17, 20kHz, no-load)
- Page lists hardware decoding up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM
- Page says no driver or extra software is needed and names the UAC2.0 protocol
- Page lists support for the OMTP standard microphone
Worth noting
- The page text gives no output power figure at any load, so how well it drives demanding headphones is not stated
- The DAC is described only as an advanced SoC chip; the page text names no chip model
- Single-ended 3.5mm output only; the page text lists no balanced option on this model
- The page calls it lightweight but its text gives no weight or size figure
Questions before you buy
Which plug and jack does the Echo-A use?
The spec section lists a Type-C plug and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The page says it works with computers, laptops, Android and iOS devices, needs no driver or additional software, and supports the UAC2.0 protocol.
What audio figures does the page give?
Hardware decoding up to 32-bit/384kHz, SNR of 100dB(A-Weighted), dynamic range of 102dB(A-Weighted) and THD+N of 0.01% (AES17, 20kHz, no-load). All are the page's claims, and the page text gives no output power.
Does it work with a headset microphone?
The page says it supports the OMTP standard microphone and is compatible with online-controlled microphones. The page text does not describe other microphone standards.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- No output power or load is given anywhere in the page text, and the DAC is described only as an advanced SoC chip with no model named.
- THD+N of 0.01% is stated at no-load, so the page text gives no distortion figure with headphones connected; SNR is 100dB(A-Weighted) in the spec section and 'about 100dB' in the text.
- The page says it keeps background noise low even with sensitive IEMs and calls it lightweight, but its text gives no noise-floor figure, IEM sensitivity range or weight.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
