Tentsile Safari Trillium XL 6-Person Camping Hammock Review
With no spec sheet on its page, this 6-person Safari hammock lists $799 in Beige with a 550kg / 1,200lbs capacity and 600D Dacron fabric. It suits large groups or rental sites that can live without a stated weight or floor area and have three trees to hang it from.

Our verdict
For large groups or rental sites that want a 600D Dacron 6-person hammock with a 550kg / 1,200lbs capacity and can accept missing specs: it lists $799. Look elsewhere if you need a stated weight, packed size or floor area before buying, or a lower price (the Trillium XL (3.1) lists $549 with a full spec sheet). The main caveat is the absent spec sheet; the page only says it is the same size as the Trillium XL.
- Best for
- Rental operations or large groups that want a Dacron 6-person hammock and have three healthy trees.
- Skip if
- You need a stated weight, packed size or floor area before buying, or want to pay less than $799.
Why 3.5/5: Lifted by a stated capacity and fabric and a clear single price. Held back by the missing specification table, with no weight, packed size or floor area, plus the lack of an independent test of this exact hammock and the need for suitable trees and practice.
No spec table comes with the Safari Trillium XL 6-Person Camping Hammock, so its facts come from the page text. It lists $799 in Beige and says it holds 6 adults or up to 10 kids on a 550kg / 1,200lbs capacity, built from 600D Dacron fabric with 3,500 UV hours. The page calls it the same size as the Trillium XL but gives no unit weight, packed size or floor area of its own.
Options and pricing
One option is listed: color Beige at $799, with no crossed-out price and nothing out of stock when read. The page gives no spec table, so there are no listed straps, ratchet ratings, packed size, weight or floor dimensions; the key features mention 30+ meters of seatbelt webbing and 5-ton ratchets. The title carries no (3.0) or (3.1) mark, unlike the Trillium XL 6-Person Hammock (3.1).
How it compares
The nearest reference is the Trillium XL 6-Person Hammock (3.1), which lists $549 with a 1200lbs / 550kg capacity, a 21.8lbs / 9.8kg unit weight and a 170sqft / 15.5sqm floor; this page says the Safari model is the same size but lists $799 and gives no weight or floor area. The Safari Trillium 3-Person Hammock (3.1) lists $499 with 880lbs / 400kg and a 78sqft / 7.25sqm floor for three people.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Shipping is free on orders over $199 sent from the US (lower 48) and EU countries; for Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand the page says its rates are kept as low as it can and gives a rough guide of $10 for most accessories and $20 for heavier items inside the US mainland. Average delivery is 3 to 5 working days in the US and EU and 7 to 10 days for the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. PO Box addresses are refused. The page says no extra taxes or duties apply to purchases from the US, EU, Canada, Australia or the UK, optional cover from Route can be added at checkout, and free shipping covers the first delivery attempt only; stack and accessory parts can come from different warehouses and arrive in separate packages. Returns: unused, unopened products in their original packaging can go back within 30 days of receipt, and opened or tested products can too, with a restocking fee the page gives as $20 for an unopened box and $50 for a used product (another line on the same page says $30 for all non-warranty returns). You pay return shipping on opened products unless they are defective or were sent wrongly, pre-loved and clearance sales are final, Canadian returns go to a US return centre with duties paid, and EU returns that are not warranty cases go to the UK. Warranty: products bought on tentsile.com after January 2025 carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects when used as the manuals say; straps and ratchets are covered for 5 years and a rainfly is meant to be replaced about every 3 years. The exclusions include poles and pegs, wear and tear, UV degradation (fabric rated for 1,500 hours for black mesh, 2,500 hours for green fabric and 3,500 hours for Safari fabric), snow load over 1 inch, high winds and products bought from third parties. Orders from $35 to $2,000 can be split into four payments with Zip, ClearPay, PayPal or Afterpay.
Before you buy
Tentsile's page header says "Rated 4.5/5" with "1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers"; these are the store's own figures and were not checked. Independent coverage we could open is thin: a hands-on review of the Connect by TechGadgetsCanada (March 2024, about 8 set-ups and 4 to 5 nights) found a steep learning curve, workable trees at only about half of its stops and one cold night, and a Wilderness Times write-up of the Stingray summarises specs and owner feedback without showing any hands-on testing. Tentsile's own pages set limits that matter, for example a recommended set-up height of 1.2m / 4ft on its Trilogy page, a 1 inch snow-load limit in its warranty terms and an FAQ warning that tension loads can reach 15kN, so only healthy trees should be used. The store also warns about copycat sites, and its returns and warranty terms apply to purchases made on tentsile.com.
What we liked
- The page states a 550kg / 1,200lbs capacity and says it holds 6 adults or up to 10 kids
- It names 600D Dacron fabric and lists 3,500 UV hours
- 30+ meters of seatbelt webbing and 5-ton ratchets are named in the key features
- The page says the anti-roll system creates 3 huge separate bays and that single-person set-up is possible
- The page pitches it at campsites, retreats and rental operations as well as large groups
Worth noting
- No specification table: the page gives no unit weight, packed size, floor area, floor dimensions or strap sizes
- At $799 it costs more than the Trillium XL 6-Person Hammock (3.1) at $549, which lists 21.8lbs / 9.8kg and 170sqft / 15.5sqm
- Only one color, Beige, is listed, and the title has no version mark
- The only tree guidance is the shared FAQ: healthy trees at less than 90 degree angles from each other

The page gives no dimensions. It says only that the size is the same as the Trillium XL, which the sibling listing shows with a 170sqft / 15.5sqm floor and a 21.8lbs / 9.8kg unit weight. This page does not confirm those figures for the Safari model.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

You pay return shipping on opened products unless they are defective or were sent wrongly. Pre-loved and clearance sales are final.
What does the warranty cover?

What we couldn’t verify
- No specification table is given: unit weight, packed size, floor area, floor dimensions and strap sizes are all missing from this page.
- The page gives no version mark (3.0 or 3.1) and offers no color other than Beige.
- Single-person set-up is said to be possible, but the page gives no time for this model; its banner says 15 minutes and its FAQ 10 minutes in general terms.
- Independent testing of this exact product: none found; the outside coverage located covers the Connect (hands-on, 2024) and the Stingray (specs summary).
- "Rated 4.5/5, 1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers" are the store's own page-header claims, not checked.
- The returns page gives a $50 restocking fee for used products and a $30 fee for non-warranty returns in different places.
