Our verdict
Suits young families or small groups that already want the Stingray 3-Person Tree Tent and a ground level for up to 6 adults in total: it lists $788 with an 18kg / 39.7lbs total weight. Look elsewhere if you need dimensions, fabrics or capacity figures on the page, or a smaller tent (the Connect Ground Stack lists $686). The main caveat is that the page gives only total weight and set-up time, with no parts specification.
- Best for
- Young families or small groups who want a 3-person tent with a ground level for up to 6 adults.
- Skip if
- You need part-by-part sizes, fabrics or a lbs/kg capacity before buying, since the page gives only a total weight.
Why 3.5/5: Lifted by an itemised box list, a stated total weight and set-up time, and a single clear price. Held back by thin specification text, no independent test of this exact stack, and the need for suitable trees and set-up practice.
For families and small groups, the Stingray Ground Stack takes the Stingray 3-Person Tree Tent (Forest Green rainfly) and adds a Ground Conversion Kit and a Large Double-Bubble Insect Mesh to create an enclosed ground level. The page gives a total weight of 18kg / 39.7lbs and an approximate set-up time of 25-40 minutes, and says capacity doubles from 3 to 6 adults. It is listed at $788 in a single option.
Options and pricing
Only one option exists, priced $788, and the store shows a crossed-out higher price of $985; read that as the store's own comparison, not a market price. The box list names the Stingray 3-Person Tree Tent (Forest Green rainfly), a Ground Conversion Kit and a Large Double-Bubble Insect Mesh. The page gives no other sizes or colors, and nothing showed as out of stock when read.
How it compares
At $788 this stack sits above the Connect Ground Stack, which lists $686 for a ground level under the tent. The Safari Connect Ground Stack lists $862 and, per its text, allows up to 4 people, while this Stingray stack says up to 6 adults. The Stingray Starter Stack lists $933.60 for a multi-storey setup that suspends up to 6 people across 2 levels.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Shipping is free on orders over $199 sent from the US (lower 48) and EU countries; for Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand the page says its rates are kept as low as it can and gives a rough guide of $10 for most accessories and $20 for heavier items inside the US mainland. Average delivery is 3 to 5 working days in the US and EU and 7 to 10 days for the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. PO Box addresses are refused. The page says no extra taxes or duties apply to purchases from the US, EU, Canada, Australia or the UK, optional cover from Route can be added at checkout, and free shipping covers the first delivery attempt only; stack and accessory parts can come from different warehouses and arrive in separate packages. Returns: unused, unopened products in their original packaging can go back within 30 days of receipt, and opened or tested products can too, with a restocking fee the page gives as $20 for an unopened box and $50 for a used product (another line on the same page says $30 for all non-warranty returns). You pay return shipping on opened products unless they are defective or were sent wrongly, pre-loved and clearance sales are final, Canadian returns go to a US return centre with duties paid, and EU returns that are not warranty cases go to the UK. Warranty: products bought on tentsile.com after January 2025 carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects when used as the manuals say; straps and ratchets are covered for 5 years and a rainfly is meant to be replaced about every 3 years. The exclusions include poles and pegs, wear and tear, UV degradation (fabric rated for 1,500 hours for black mesh, 2,500 hours for green fabric and 3,500 hours for Safari fabric), snow load over 1 inch, high winds and products bought from third parties. Orders from $35 to $2,000 can be split into four payments with Zip, ClearPay, PayPal or Afterpay.
Before you buy
Tentsile's page header says "Rated 4.5/5" with "1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers"; these are the store's own figures and were not checked. Independent coverage we could open is thin: a hands-on review of the Connect by TechGadgetsCanada (March 2024, about 8 set-ups and 4 to 5 nights) found a steep learning curve, workable trees at only about half of its stops and one cold night, and a Wilderness Times write-up of the Stingray summarises specs and owner feedback without showing any hands-on testing. Tentsile's own pages set limits that matter, for example a recommended set-up height of 1.2m / 4ft on its Trilogy page, a 1 inch snow-load limit in its warranty terms and an FAQ warning that tension loads can reach 15kN, so only healthy trees should be used. The store also warns about copycat sites, and its returns and warranty terms apply to purchases made on tentsile.com.
What we liked
- The box list is itemised: Stingray 3-Person Tree Tent (Forest Green rainfly), Ground Conversion Kit and Large Double-Bubble Insect Mesh
- Total weight (18kg / 39.7lbs) and an approximate set-up time (25-40 minutes) are stated
- The page says the ground level doubles sleeping capacity from 3 to 6 adults, or can serve as a living space or storage area
- The page describes the tent as designed for young families and small groups
Worth noting
- Nothing on the page states capacity in lbs or kg, dimensions or fabrics for the tent, kit or mesh
- The size of the Large Double-Bubble Insect Mesh is not stated
- The page names no tree spacing, tree size or set-up height for this stack

What we couldn’t verify
- The page gives only total weight and approximate set-up time: no capacity in lbs or kg, dimensions, fabrics, mesh size or version is stated for the tent, kit or mesh.
- The page says the stack has all you need for an enclosed ground level but lists no walls; it does not say what closes the level beyond the Large Double-Bubble Insect Mesh.
- The crossed-out $985 shown beside $788 is not explained or turned into a savings claim in the text.
- Independent testing of this exact product: none found; the outside coverage located covers the Connect (hands-on, 2024) and the Stingray (specs summary).
- "Rated 4.5/5, 1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers" are the store's own page-header claims, not checked.
- The returns page gives a $50 restocking fee for used products and a $30 fee for non-warranty returns in different places.
