TOPPING MX3s DAC/Headphone/Speaker Amp Review

A TOPPING all-in-one with an AKM DAC, a headphone amplifier and a Merus Class D speaker output, listed at $199 in black or silver. The page gives 700mWx2@32Ω for headphones and 62Wx2 @ 4Ω for speakers, so it suits buyers who want passive speakers and headphones from one unit.

Our verdict

Right for buyers who want one unit that drives passive speakers and headphones and takes USB, optical, coaxial, aux and Bluetooth sources, at the page's 62Wx2 @ 4Ω and 700mWx2@32Ω. Look elsewhere if you need PCM above 24-Bit/192kHz, a named DAC chip or measurements from someone other than the store. The THD+N and SNR figures do not say which output they cover.

Why 3.6/5: The 9-line specification list with figures lifts it; the store's own terms contradicting each other and the lack of any independent test checked for this review hold it back.

Speakers, headphones and Bluetooth sources all connect to the TOPPING MX3s, which HiFiGO's page prices at $199. The page names a built-in AKM DAC chipset, a Qualcomm QCC3040 Bluetooth chipset and a Merus Class D power amplifier, and it lists 700mWx2@32Ω for headphones and 62Wx2 @ 4Ω for speakers. It also lists a subwoofer output, bass and treble EQ, an OLED display and an automatic on/off function.

Options and pricing

Two colors are listed, Black and Silver, each at $199 and orderable when the page was read; the option list shows nothing else that varies and no crossed-out price. The page text has no box list, so it does not say whether speaker cables, a power supply or a remote come with it, and it does not describe the speaker terminals.

How it compares

The TOPPING DX3pro+ costs the same $199; its title names a DAC, headphone amplifier and pre-amplifier with no speaker amplifier mentioned, and its listed inputs are coax, USB, optical and Bluetooth. The xDuoo LINK3 is $219 and its line quotes 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512, where the MX3s page gives up to 24-Bit/192kHz PCM. The MX3s suits buyers who also want to drive passive speakers; the other two are titled as headphone amplifiers.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Speaker output listed at 62Wx2 @ 4Ω and headphone output at 700mWx2@32Ω in one unit
  • USB, optical, coaxial, RCA aux and Bluetooth inputs listed
  • Bluetooth codecs named: LDAC, AptX HD, AptX, AAC, SBC
  • Subwoofer output and bass and treble EQ from -10dB to +10dB per the page
  • Two gain levels listed: 2dB (low) and 14.8dB (high)
  • Automatic on/off on digital inputs, with standby after a minute without a signal, per the page

Worth noting

  • PCM decoding is listed only up to 24-Bit/192kHz, and the page text gives no DSD figure
  • The page text does not name the AKM chip model
  • THD+N (under 0.003%) and SNR (115dB) are listed without naming the output or level
  • The page text gives no dimensions or weight
  • Numbers such as 62Wx2 @ 4Ω are the store's claims, and no independent test of the MX3s was checked for this review

Questions before you buy

How much power does the MX3s list for speakers and headphones?

The page lists 62Wx2 @ 4Ω for the speaker output and 700mWx2@32Ω for the headphone output. The text says up to 62W per channel at 4Ω and up to 700mW for headphones; these are the store's figures, and the page text gives no test method.

Which inputs and Bluetooth chipset does the MX3s list?

The page lists digital USB, optical and coaxial inputs, an RCA aux input and a Bluetooth input, and names a Qualcomm QCC3040 Bluetooth chipset with LDAC, AptX HD, AptX, AAC and SBC.

What do the EQ and gain settings cover?

The page lists bass and treble EQ adjustable from -10dB to +10dB and two gain levels, 2dB (low) and 14.8dB (high), without naming the output. It also lists an automatic on/off function on digital inputs that enters standby after a minute without a signal.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • The page text names no model for the AKM DAC chipset, and gives THD+N under 0.003%, SNR of 115dB, gain and noise figures without saying which output, load or power level they cover.
  • The 'clean' power claims (700mW for headphones, 62W per channel for speakers) come with no distortion figure at those levels in the page text, and 'drive most bookshelf speakers with ease' and 'adequate to drive most headphones' name no models.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
