A DAC and headphone amp with USB, optical and coaxial inputs and an AK4493 chip, listed at $289 in black or silver. It suits buyers who want one unit for a PC, a phone and a coaxial or optical player; the page text lists 1000mW at a 32Ω load without naming the output.

Our verdict

Suits buyers who want one box that takes USB, optical and coaxial sources, lists its sample rates and battery life per input, and costs $289. Look elsewhere if you need to know which headphone output the 1000mW at 32Ω figure belongs to, or want a single USB rate: the page gives more than one. Every spec figure on the page is the store's own, and no independent test was checked for this review.

Skip if
You need a named headphone output or a power figure at a load other than 32Ω.

Why 3.6/5: Lifted by the list of specification figures in the page text; held back by the store's own terms that contradict each other and because no independent test was checked for this review: every spec figure is the store's own.

According to its page, the xDuoo XD-05 Plus is an upgraded version of the earlier XD-05: a DAC and headphone amplifier that HiFiGO lists at $289 in black or silver. The page text gives an AK4493 DAC chip, USB, optical and coaxial inputs, a 3.8V/5000mAh battery and 1000mW at a 32Ω load. It also lists a bass boost switch, a 2-setting gain switch and an op amp chip that the page says can be replaced by the user.

Options and pricing

Two colors are listed, black and Silver, at $289 each, and both were orderable when the page was read. The page text names no difference between them beyond the color name, and it gives no in-the-box list or cable option, although its description mentions connecting iOS and Android phones with a USB OTG cable.

How it compares

The xDuoo XD05 Plus2 Portable High-Fidelity DAC & Headphone AMP is $269 and its spec line names an AK4493SEQ DAC chipset, against $289 and an AK4493 chip here. The xDuoo DM01 / DM-01 CS43131 Bluetooth 5.4 USB DAC & AMP is $279 and its name says Bluetooth 5.4, which this page's text does not mention. The xDuoo XD05 BASIC2 CS43131 Portable DAC & Headphone Amplifier is $299 with a CS43131 chip in its name. The XD-05 Plus suits buyers who want coaxial and optical inputs; the DM01 suits those who want Bluetooth.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Sample rates are given per input: USB PCM 16-32bit/44.1-384kHz, and OPT/COAX PCM 16-24Bit/44.1K-192KHz
  • A 3.8V/5000mAh battery and a battery life per input (at least 13h USB IN, 21h SPDIF IN, 40h AUX IN) are listed
  • THD+N is listed separately for USB IN/SPDIF IN (0.0016%@1kHz) and AUX IN (0.0009%@1kHZ)
  • A 2-setting gain switch, a bass boost on/off switch and a thrust adjustment function are listed
  • The page says the op amp chip can be replaced by the user

Worth noting

  • The 1000mW figure is given at a 32Ω load only, and the page text does not say which headphone output it applies to or name any output type
  • USB rates are given more than one way: the description says up to 32Bit/384KHz PCM over USB for Windows, IOS and Android, while feature 4 says up to 24Bit/192KHz PCM and DSD128 for phones over USB OTG
  • Battery life is listed as minimums per input with no stated volume, load or other test conditions
  • The page text lists DAC filter settings and an SRC set function without saying what the settings are

Questions before you buy

What power does the XD-05 Plus list, and at what load?

The page lists 1000mW at a 32Ω load, in both the description and the specification section. The page text does not name the output it applies to, and it gives no power figure at other loads.

Which inputs and sample rates does the XD-05 Plus list?

The page lists USB, optical and coaxial inputs, and AUX IN appears in its THD+N and battery lines. Over USB it gives PCM 16-32bit/44.1-384kHz, DSD64-256 and DXD 24-32bit/352.8k-384khz; over OPT/COAX it gives PCM 16-24Bit/44.1K-192KHz and DSD 1Bit/2.82Mhz(DOP). Feature 4 gives up to 24Bit/192KHz PCM and DSD128 for phones connected by a USB OTG cable.

How long does the XD-05 Plus battery last?

The page lists a 3.8V/5000mAh battery and a battery life of at least 13h on USB IN, at least 21h on SPDIF IN and at least 40h on AUX IN. The page text does not give the volume, load or other conditions behind those figures.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • USB rates differ inside the page: the description gives up to 32Bit/384KHz PCM, DSD256 and 32Bit/384KHz DXD over USB for Windows, IOS and Android, while feature 4 gives up to 24Bit/192KHz PCM and DSD128 for phones over a USB OTG cable.
  • The 1000mW at a 32Ω load figure names no output and no THD level; the battery life minimums give no test conditions; THD+N, S/N and crosstalk figures give no conditions beyond 1kHz on THD+N.
  • Claims without proof: that jitter is reduced 'to an undetectable level', that it 'can improve the sound quality of the original playback equipment effectively', and that it is 'also compatible with 05BL', which the page text does not explain.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
