Our verdict

Worth considering for buyers who want a portable DAC and amp with 1500mW stated at 32Ω, a 6.35mm output alongside a 4.4mm one, and swappable op-amps at $429. Look elsewhere if you need sample-rate, noise or weight figures in the page text. The 12-hour battery claim and the clean-sound wording are the page's own, and every figure is the store's.

Why 3.4/5: Held back by no text specification list, conflicting store terms, and no independent test checked for this review.

xDuoo's XD05 Bal2 pairs two ES9038Q2M chips with an XMOS XU316 USB receiver in a portable DAC and headphone amp. The page claims up to 1500mW at 32Ω from both its single-ended and balanced outputs, and lists 6.35mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs, a 5000mAh battery, Bluetooth V5.1 and swappable op-amps. HiFiGO's page prices it at $429 in a single option.

Options and pricing

Under the Model heading the page shows one option, XD05 Bal2, at $429, orderable when the page was read, with no crossed-out price. The headphone outputs are 6.35mm and 4.4mm, and the op-amps can be swapped by pulling the old ones out and pushing new ones in, per the page. The page text names no color choices or box contents, does not say which op-amps are fitted, and does not say whether spares come with it.

How it compares

Next to the QULOOS MUB1 at $449.99, the XD05 Bal2 at $429 has no PCM or DSD figures in its page text, while the MUB1 line lists 32-Bit/384kHz PCM and Native DSD256. The iBasso DC-Tonfa is $339.99 and its title names an 8CH R2R DAC, where the XD05 Bal2 uses two ES9038Q2M chips. The iBasso PB6 MACAW is $499 and is a tube headphone amplifier by its title. The XD05 Bal2 suits buyers who want a 6.35mm output and swappable op-amps; the MUB1 suits those who want stated PCM and DSD figures.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Two ES9038Q2M chips with an XMOS XU316 USB receiver, per the page
  • The page ties 1500mW to a 32Ω load and says the figure is the same on single-ended and balanced outputs
  • 6.35mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs; inputs include USB Type-C, AES, 4.4mm balanced and Bluetooth V5.1
  • Swappable op-amps, plus bass-boost and Turbo Gain+ switches
  • 5000mAh battery with a stated 12 hours and 3 hours to full charge

Worth noting

  • The page text gives no PCM or DSD sample-rate figures, and no numbers for the SNR and THD+N it calls ultra-low
  • The 12-hour battery life has no conditions such as load or volume in the page text
  • The page text gives no weight or size
  • The page text does not say which op-amps are fitted
  • 4.4mm is listed among both the inputs and the headphone outputs without explanation in the page text

Questions before you buy

How much power does the XD05 Bal2 list, and at what load?

The page lists up to 1500mW at 32Ω and says the same 1500mW is available through both the single-ended and the balanced output.

Which outputs and inputs does it have?

Headphone outputs are listed as 6.35mm and 4.4mm. Inputs named are USB Type-C, AES, 4.4mm balanced and Bluetooth V5.1, with LDAC and AptX HD named for Bluetooth.

Can the op-amps be changed?

The page says the op-amp design is swappable without soldering: pull the old ones out, match the pins and push the new ones in, without high pressure. The page text does not say which op-amps are fitted.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • The 12 hours of battery life and 3 hours to full charge come with no load, volume or mode, and the page text gives no PCM, DSD, SNR or THD+N figures although it calls the last two ultra-low.
  • The page lists 4.4mm among both the inputs and the headphone outputs without explaining it in its text; the Hi-Res Bluetooth label and the clean, detailed sound claims are the page's words.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
