FiiO K17 DAC and Headphone Amplifier Review
A desktop DAC and Class AB headphone amplifier from FiiO, listed at $989.99 in black or silver. The page lists AK4191 and AK4499EX DAC chips, up to 4,000mW per channel, Bluetooth, WiFi, Roon Ready and AirPlay, so it suits one-box setups that also stream.

Our verdict
A fit for buyers who want a DAC, headphone amplifier and network streamer in one unit, with Roon Ready, AirPlay and local file playback, and who plan to use the balanced ports for demanding headphones. Look elsewhere if you need stated sample rates, a load for the 4,000mW figure or measured noise and distortion. The page text has no specification list, and every figure is the store's own.
- Best for
- Buyers who want a DAC, balanced headphone amp and network streamer in a single desktop unit.
- Skip if
- You need stated sample rates, a load for the 4,000mW figure or measured noise figures.
Why 3.4/5: The listed inputs, network features and outputs lift it. The missing specification list, the store's contradictory terms, and figures with no independent test checked hold it back.
FiiO's K17 combines a desktop DAC, a headphone amplifier and a network player in one metal case, listed at $989.99 in black or silver. The page names an AK4191 plus AK4499EX x2 dual DAC chipset and a fully discrete Class AB output stage listed at up to 4,000mW per channel. Besides USB, coaxial, optical, RCA and XLR inputs it lists Bluetooth, dual-band WiFi, Apple AirPlay and Roon Ready, and it can play files from a USB drive or SSD.

Options and pricing
Two finishes are listed, K17-Black and K17-Silver, both at $989.99 and both orderable when the page was read. The page text gives no difference between them beyond the color name. It lists a remote control among the features but does not say whether one is included, and it gives no dimensions, weight or in-the-box list.
How it compares
The AUNE S9c Pro MQA 16x DAC with Headphone AMP costs $679.15 and its name pairs a DAC with a headphone amp but mentions no streaming. The TOPPING DX9 Discrete DAC & Headphone AMP is $1,299 and the SMSL VMV P2 MK2 Headphone Amplifier is $1,160, sold as an amplifier only. The K17 at $989.99 suits buyers who want streaming and local playback in the same unit; the others are named as a DAC and amp or an amp alone, with no streaming mentioned.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
FiiO's own notice "A letter to FiiO fans" (undated) lists HiFiGo among sellers it has not authorized and recommends buying FiiO products from local agents. FiiO says it still services genuine products bought from such sellers if the buyer emails [email protected], but the buyer pays the freight and duties if a unit must go back to China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- Up to 4,000mW per channel is listed, with a fully discrete Class AB output stage
- Inputs listed: USB, coaxial, optical, RCA, 3-pin XLR and Bluetooth, plus USB drive and SSD playback
- Network features are listed: dual-band WiFi, Apple AirPlay and Roon Ready
- A 31-band PEQ and multiple gain modes, per the page
- Three headphone outputs (6.35mm, 4.4mm, 4-pin XLR) and a 3.93-inch touchscreen
Worth noting
- The 4,000mW figure has no load stated, and the text ties it to the balanced ports only
- No PCM or DSD sample-rate figures; the page only says high-resolution PCM, native DSD and MQA
- No THD+N, SNR, impedance or Bluetooth version figures are given
- The page lists no size, weight or box contents
Questions before you buy
At what load is the K17's 4,000mW quoted?
The page does not name one. It lists up to 4,000mW per channel (written 4000mW in the text) and says the power comes through the balanced connection ports, so the figure cannot be matched to a particular headphone from the page alone.
Which inputs and wireless features does it have?
Inputs are USB, coaxial, optical, RCA and 3-pin XLR, plus Bluetooth (LDAC, aptX HD, etc.). It lists dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz, 5GHz), Apple AirPlay and Roon Ready, and local playback from a USB drive or SSD.
Which DAC chips and formats does it list?
An AK4191 plus AK4499EX x2 dual DAC chipset with an XMOS XU316 USB processor. The page says it supports high-resolution PCM, native DSD and MQA but gives no sample rates.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- The page gives 4,000mW per channel with no load and says it comes through the balanced ports; the output of the 6.35mm port is not stated.
- High-resolution PCM, native DSD and MQA are claimed without sample rates, and the Bluetooth version is not given.
- Descriptions of clarity, lossless PEQ and a clean power supply are the page's own words, and the page gives no THD+N or SNR figure.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
- FiiO's undated seller notice lists HiFiGo as an unauthorized seller; FiiO says it still services genuine units, with freight and duties paid by the buyer.
