Our verdict
A sturdy, all-weather sandbox for a backyard that can fit its roughly 6.5 x 5.6-foot footprint. The included cover and liner are the main reasons to pick this over a basic plastic kiddie sandbox.
- Best for
- Families with yard space who want a sandbox that survives rain and seasons without rotting.
- Skip if
- Your outdoor space is small, or you just need an occasional-use sandbox for a toddler.
The Large HDPE Sandbox is Foowin's backyard play structure: a hexagon-shaped box built from solid high-density polyethylene panels, sized for up to six children at once. Its wide upper edges are built flat enough to double as seating, so kids (and parents) can sit on the rim during play rather than only sitting in the sand.
Like the rest of Foowin's furniture, the panels are solid HDPE rather than painted wood or thin plastic, which the brand says resists warping, splintering, and cracking over repeated outdoor seasons. A sand-proof panel design is meant to keep the box from leaking sand out at the seams, and iron corner posts reinforce the structure to cut down on wobble during active play.
Foowin includes a waterproof cover and a liner with the box — the cover is meant to keep rain, falling leaves, and animals out of the sand when it's not in use, and the liner sits underneath to separate the sand from the ground. Assembly takes roughly 30 minutes with basic tools, and the finished footprint is 78.30 x 67.50 x 8.40 inches.
It's sold in seven colors — Black, Teak, Gray, Navy Blue, Pacific Blue, Coffee, and Dark Green — at a flat $189.99 regardless of color. Sand itself isn't included.
Foowin ships free within the US (no international shipping), with delivery in roughly 3–10 business days after 1–2 days of processing. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery if the item is unused and in its original packaging — contact [email protected] first.

- Waterproof cover keeps out rain, leaves, and animals
- Iron corner posts reduce wobble during active play
- Sand-proof design resists leaking
- Seven colors to match the yard
Worth noting
- At 78 x 67 inches it needs real backyard space, not a small patio
- Sand and liner aren't included — budget separately for fill
