SHANLING ONIX XI1 DAC/Amp Review

A portable DAC/amp with two CS43198 chips, two SGM8262 amplifiers, a 0.87-inch OLED and physical volume keys, listed at $119.99 with a case. The page gives up to 500mW at 32Ω on the balanced port. It suits buyers who want on-unit controls; the page text never names the input connection.

Our verdict

A fit for buyers who want a dual-CS43198 unit with its own display and physical keys and who are fine with the $119.99 bundle that includes a case. Look elsewhere if you need a named input connection, weight and noise figures, or an outside measurement. The main caveat is that the page text gives no weight, SNR, THD or output voltage figure and never names the input connection.

Why 3.4/5: Held back by the lack of a specification list as text, by store terms that contradict each other, and by every figure being the store's own, with no independent test checked for this review.

SHANLING's ONIX XI1 pairs two CS43198 DAC chips with two SGM8262 amplifiers and adds a 0.87-inch OLED, physical volume and playback keys and a 3.5mm plus a 4.4mm output. The page lists PCM up to 32-Bit/768kHz, DSD256 and up to 500mW at 32Ω on the balanced port. The orderable option is the XI1 with a case at $119.99, because the XI1-only option was sold out when the page was read.

Options and pricing

Two options are listed: ONIX XI1 Only at $109, shown as sold out when the page was read, and ONIX XI1 + Case at $119.99, orderable. The review price is the orderable bundle with the case. The page text does not describe the case, an input cable or anything else in the box, and it names no color choices.

How it compares

The TANCHJIM Luna Dual CS43198 Portable USB DAC/AMP is listed from $129.99 and also names two CS43198 chips, with a Standard and an Asano Tanch limited-edition version, against the XI1's $119.99 with a case. The Tanchjim Space II Dual CS43131 USB Portable DAC & AMP is $114.80 with dual CS43131 chips, and the iBasso DC06 Portable DAC USB Cable Adapter is $119. Both of those titles say USB, which the XI1's title and text never do. The XI1 suits buyers who want physical keys and a display; the Space II suits a lower budget.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Two CS43198 DAC chips and two SGM8262 amplifiers are named on the page
  • Up to 500mW at 32Ω is listed for the balanced port, with PCM up to 32-Bit/768kHz and DSD256
  • Built-in 0.87-inch OLED with physical volume and playback keys
  • Two-level gain and five digital filter options, adjustable from the Eddict Player app per the page
  • Power management claims: up to 30% less draw from the source and up to 80% lower standby consumption (the page's figures)

Worth noting

  • No specification list as text: the page text gives no weight, dimensions, SNR, THD or output voltage figure
  • The page text never names the input connection; USB, Type-C and cables are not mentioned
  • The 500mW figure is given only for the balanced port; the page text gives none for the 3.5mm output
  • The XI1-only option at $109 was sold out when read, so the orderable price includes a case
  • Eddict Player is described as on the Android Play Store; the page text mentions no iOS or desktop app

Questions before you buy

How much power does the SHANLING ONIX XI1 list?

Up to 500mW at 32Ω, which the text ties to the balanced connection port. The page text gives no power figure for the 3.5mm output.

What does the Eddict Player app do?

Per the page it is Shanling's own application, available on the Android Play Store, and besides music playback it lets you change the digital filter or the two-level gain mode.

Which XI1 option is orderable?

When the page was read, ONIX XI1 + Case at $119.99 was orderable and ONIX XI1 Only at $109 was sold out.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • The page text never says how the unit connects to a source (no USB, Type-C or cable is mentioned) and gives no weight, dimensions, SNR, THD or output voltage.
  • The claims of up to 30% less power draw than other DAC/AMPs and up to 80% lower standby consumption come with no test conditions or comparison units in the page text.
  • Descriptions such as transparent, natural tone and a quite low output impedance on both outputs are the page's words; the page text gives no impedance figure.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
