Softears S01 Type-C to 3.5mm USB DAC Review
A portable USB DAC from Softears with a Type-C to 3.5mm connection, listed at $25. The two readable pictures give a weight of about 4.3g and describe a non-metallic injection-molded shell and a braided cable, but give no output power, DAC chip or sample rate.

Our verdict
A fit for a buyer who wants a Type-C to 3.5mm USB DAC at $25 and values a stated weight of about 4.3g, a non-metallic shell and a pictured braided cable. Look elsewhere if you need an output power, a confirmed chip, sample rates or an in-the-box list before buying: the readable pictures give none, and 9 of the 11 pictures could not be read. All the figures quoted here are the store's own.

Why 3.3/5: Held back because the page has no specification list as text and most of its claims sit in pictures rather than text, as most of its pictures could not be read at all. The store's own terms contradict each other, and no independent test was checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.
The Softears S01 is a portable USB DAC with a Type-C to 3.5mm connection, and HiFiGO lists it at $25 with CS46L41 in the title. The page has no text description and only 2 of its 11 pictures could be read. Those two give a weight of about 4.3g and describe an integrated injection-molded non-metallic shell and a braided cable, but give no output power, impedance or sample rate.

Options and pricing
One option is listed, S01, at $25 and orderable when the page was read, so there is no color or plug choice to make. HiFiGO's tags file it under Adapters. The two readable pictures show a shell embossed with the Softears name and describe a braided cable with EnduraFlex silicone inside; neither carries an in-the-box list, so the two pictures read do not say what comes with the unit besides the DAC.
How it compares
At $25 the S01 costs more than the FiiO JIEZI USB Type C to 3.5mm DAC & Headphone Amplifier at $14.99 and the FiiO SNOWSKY Tiny A / Tiny B Portable Headphone Power Amplifier at $21.99, and less than the Kinera Celest CD-3 KT02H20 + OPA97220 Portable DAC/AMP at $29.99. Those three titles name an amplifier or a DAC/AMP, while the S01's title says USB DAC with no amplifier named. It suits a buyer who is shopping for a unit titled as a DAC; one who wants an amplifier named in the title is pointed to the other three.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- Weight of about 4.3g is given in a picture
- A picture describes an integrated injection-molded, non-metallic shell that it says avoids scratching earphones
- A picture claims a braided cable with EnduraFlex silicone inside
- The Type-C to 3.5mm connection is stated in the title and in the name picture
- A single option at $25, so nothing to configure
Worth noting
- The two readable pictures give no DAC chip, output power, impedance, sample rate, compatibility or in-the-box list
- Nine of the 11 pictures could not be read, so any figures they carry are unknown
- The title names CS46L41, but none of the readable pictures mention it
- Claims about background noise and cable bend resistance come with no figures in the readable pictures
Questions before you buy
Which chip does the Softears S01 use?
HiFiGO's title names CS46L41. The two readable pictures do not mention a chip, and 9 of the 11 pictures could not be read, so this review cannot confirm what CS46L41 does in the unit.
How much does it weigh and what is it made of?
A picture gives about 4.3g and describes an integrated injection-molded, non-metallic shell embossed Softears. It also claims a braided cable with EnduraFlex silicone inside.
What connection does it use?
The title and the name picture both say Type-C to 3.5mm. No compatibility list, sample rate or output power appears in the pictures that could be read.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- MISSING: 9 of the 11 listed pictures could not be read, so output power, sample rates, compatibility and the in-the-box list may sit in them.
- The title names CS46L41, but it does not appear in the two pictures that could be read, so the chip is unconfirmed.
- Picture claims such as ultra-low background noise, a cable made by the same process as iPhone cables and a break-resistant, anti-twist build come with no measurements in the two pictures read.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
- 9 of the 11 description pictures on HiFiGO's page did not load when we checked on October 29, 2026 (their image host answered "not found"), so anything they showed is not covered here.
