KINERA Celest CD-3 USB-C DAC/Amp Review
Two jacks, 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced, sit on this USB Type-C DAC and amp, listed at $29.99 in Black or White. Its pictures list KT02H20 + OPA97220 as the DAC chip and give 30mW and 120mW at 32Ω, though the spec table prints the load as @320.

Our verdict
A fit for a buyer who wants both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced jacks in a 20.4g USB Type-C unit at $29.99, with output power quoted for each jack. Look elsewhere if you need the output load settled, since the table prints @320 while another picture prints 32Ω, or if you expect a cable in the box. The figures quoted are the store's own, read from its pictures.
- Best for
- Listeners with 4.4mm balanced cables who also want a 3.5mm jack in one USB Type-C DAC/amp.
- Skip if
- You need the output power load settled or a cable confirmed in the box.
Why 3.3/5: A page with no specification list as text, and with its claims left in pictures, holds the rating back, as do the store's own terms that contradict each other and no independent test checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.
KINERA's Celest CD-3 is a USB Type-C DAC and amp that HiFiGO lists at $29.99 in black or white. A pictured table gives KT02H20 + OPA97220 as the DAC chip, 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone jacks, PCM up to 384kHz/32bit, a weight of 20.4g and dimensions of 48x20x11mm. The page has no text description, only 10 pictures, and the output power load is printed two different ways.

Options and pricing
Two options are listed at $29.99 each, CD-3 Black and CD-3 White, and both were orderable when the page was read; the two names differ only in the color word. A pictured package list, shown with a box photo marked as a USB-C 3.5mm+4.4mm adapter, names the Celest CD-3 Portable DAC/Amp x 1 and a User Manual x 1. A picture refers to an included Type-C cable that this list does not name.
How it compares
At $29.99 the CD-3 costs more than the Softears S01 CS46L41 Portable USB DAC Type-C to 3.5mm at $25 and less than the Moondrop FreeDSP Mini 2-Gen CS43198 USB-C DAC & AMP at $39.99 and the FiiO KA15 Dual CS43198 Portable DAC & Headphone AMP at $109.99. The Softears title says Type-C to 3.5mm, the Moondrop title names a CS43198 chip and the KA15 title says Dual CS43198. The CD-3's pictures list a 4.4mm balanced jack next to the 3.5mm one, so it suits a listener who owns balanced-cable headphones and wants that jack at $29.99.
Shipping, returns and warranty
HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.
Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.
HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.
On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.
What we liked
- 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced jacks, with 30mW and 120mW quoted per jack, per the pictures
- A pictured table lists frequency response, SNR, dynamic range and THD at 1kHz alongside size and weight
- Size of 48x20x11mm and weight of 20.4g are stated in the pictured table
- Windows, macOS, Android, iOS and HarmonyOS are listed in the table, and a picture claims UAC2.0 with no extra driver
- A picture claims bus power from the source device through the Type-C port, with no external adapter
- The pictured package list names the unit and a user manual
Worth noting
- The spec table prints the output load as @320 while a tuning picture prints the same figures as @32Ω
- A picture refers to an included Type-C cable, but the pictured package list names only the DAC/amp and a user manual
- SNR is printed three ways: above 100dB in the table, at least 100dB in a headline and 100dB in the body text
- A picture claims crosstalk suppression without giving a figure
Questions before you buy
What output power does the CD-3 list?
A pictured table prints 30mW@320 on the 3.5mm single-ended jack and 120mW@320 on the 4.4mm balanced jack. Another picture prints the same figures at 32Ω and says the unit is tuned for 16-32Ω headphones. The two pictures disagree, and this review does not settle which load is meant.
Which chips and formats does it list?
A pictured table lists KT02H20 + OPA97220 as the DAC chip and PCM support up to 384kHz/32bit. A picture claims a dedicated headphone amp chip handles IEMs and entry-level over-ear headphones.
Does it need drivers or a power adapter?
One picture claims UAC2.0 with no extra drivers on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS and HarmonyOS; another claims bus power drawn from the source device through the Type-C port, with no external adapter. These are picture claims that this review has not checked.
Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?
From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.
What warranty does HiFiGO give?
One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify
- CONFLICT: the spec table prints the output load as @320 for 30mW (3.5mm) and 120mW (4.4mm), while a tuning picture prints the same figures as @32Ω; this review quotes 32Ω from that picture only.
- CONFLICT: a picture refers to the included Type-C cable, but the pictured package list names only the DAC/amp and a user manual, and the unit has a built-in Type-C plug.
- CONFLICT (minor): SNR reads above 100dB in the table, at least 100dB in a headline and 100dB in body text; dynamic range reads above 100dB in the table, at least 100dB in the headline. Claims of 5-pole channel separation, a soundstage gain and crosstalk suppression come with no proof.
- HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
- HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
