Our verdict

A fit for a pair of hikers, bikers or kayakers who care about pack weight and have three trees: it lists $499, 2.9kg / 6.6lbs and a 485lbs / 220kg capacity. Look elsewhere if you want a 4-Season label at a lower price, since the Flite (3.0) lists $429 and 4-Season, or if trees are scarce where you camp. The main caveat is the page's claim to be the lightest 2-person tree tent in the world, which comes with no comparison data.

Best for
A pair of hikers, bikers or kayakers who want a listed 2.9kg / 6.6lbs two-person tent and have three trees.
Skip if
You want a 4-Season label at a lower price, since the Flite (3.0) lists $429, or you have no suitable trees.

Why 3.7/5: Lifted by a full spec sheet giving capacity, weights, size and fabrics; held back because no independent test of this exact tent was found and because it needs suitable trees and some practice.

Pack weight is the point of the Flite AIR 2-Person Tree Tent, which the page describes as redesigned for hikers, bikers and kayakers. The spec sheet lists a unit weight of 2.9kg / 6.6lbs, a 485lbs / 220kg capacity, a 3-Season rating, a 32 x 18 x 18cm / 12.5 x 7 x 7in packed size and 3 doors. It costs $499 as a single option, and the page also gives a trail weight of 2.6kg/5.7lb.

Options and pricing

The page sells one version at $499, and its Variant Bundles field lists only Flite, so there are no color or size choices. The spec sheet lists 3 doors, 2 x 25mm looped straps, 1 x 1.2-ton ratchet and strap, 1 x WebLock and 2 x 8.5mm anodized aluminium poles, and the page says the interior can run as 1 or 2 separate sleeping bays. Nothing showed as out of stock when read.

How it compares

The Flite 2-Person Tree Tent (3.0) lists $429 with the same 485lbs / 220kg capacity but a 4-Season label, a 10.4lbs / 4.7kg unit weight and a 43sqft / 4sqm floor, against $499, 3-Season, 2.9kg / 6.6lbs and 48sqft / 4.5sqm here. The UNA Air 1-Person Hammock Tent lists $359 for one sleeper at 265lbs / 120kg, and the Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent (3.1) lists $899 at 20.8lbs / 9.5kg with 880lbs / 440kg and a 4-Season label.

Shipping, returns and warranty

Shipping is free on orders over $199 sent from the US (lower 48) and EU countries; for Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand the page says its rates are kept as low as it can and gives a rough guide of $10 for most accessories and $20 for heavier items inside the US mainland. Average delivery is 3 to 5 working days in the US and EU and 7 to 10 days for the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. PO Box addresses are refused. The page says no extra taxes or duties apply to purchases from the US, EU, Canada, Australia or the UK, optional cover from Route can be added at checkout, and free shipping covers the first delivery attempt only; stack and accessory parts can come from different warehouses and arrive in separate packages. Returns: unused, unopened products in their original packaging can go back within 30 days of receipt, and opened or tested products can too, with a restocking fee the page gives as $20 for an unopened box and $50 for a used product (another line on the same page says $30 for all non-warranty returns). You pay return shipping on opened products unless they are defective or were sent wrongly, pre-loved and clearance sales are final, Canadian returns go to a US return centre with duties paid, and EU returns that are not warranty cases go to the UK. Warranty: products bought on tentsile.com after January 2025 carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects when used as the manuals say; straps and ratchets are covered for 5 years and a rainfly is meant to be replaced about every 3 years. The exclusions include poles and pegs, wear and tear, UV degradation (fabric rated for 1,500 hours for black mesh, 2,500 hours for green fabric and 3,500 hours for Safari fabric), snow load over 1 inch, high winds and products bought from third parties. Orders from $35 to $2,000 can be split into four payments with Zip, ClearPay, PayPal or Afterpay.

Before you buy

Tentsile's page header says "Rated 4.5/5" with "1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers"; these are the store's own figures and were not checked. Independent coverage we could open is thin: a hands-on review of the Connect by TechGadgetsCanada (March 2024, about 8 set-ups and 4 to 5 nights) found a steep learning curve, workable trees at only about half of its stops and one cold night, and a Wilderness Times write-up of the Stingray summarises specs and owner feedback without showing any hands-on testing. Tentsile's own pages set limits that matter, for example a recommended set-up height of 1.2m / 4ft on its Trilogy page, a 1 inch snow-load limit in its warranty terms and an FAQ warning that tension loads can reach 15kN, so only healthy trees should be used. The store also warns about copycat sites, and its returns and warranty terms apply to purchases made on tentsile.com.

What we liked

  • Spec sheet lists a 2.9kg / 6.6lbs unit weight and a 32 x 18 x 18cm / 12.5 x 7 x 7in packed size; the page adds a 2.6kg/5.7lb trail weight
  • A 485lbs / 220kg capacity, 48sqft / 4.5sqm of floor and 3 doors are stated
  • The page says the parts can be split between hiking partners and the interior can run as 1 or 2 separate sleeping bays
  • The rainfly is 20D polyester PU coated (5,000HH), with an Organza 32g/sqm floor and insect mesh
  • Hardware is listed in detail: 2 x 25mm looped straps, 1 x 1.2-ton ratchet and strap, 1 x WebLock and 2 x 8.5mm poles

Worth noting

  • At $499 it lists above the Flite (3.0) at $429, and the spec sheet rates it 3-Season where the Flite (3.0) is 4-Season
  • The floor fabric is the same Organza 32g/sqm as the mesh, and no abrasion or durability rating for it appears on the page
  • It hangs from three trees; the page's FAQ asks for healthy ones and says Ground Conversion Kits exist, without naming a kit for this tent

Questions before you buy

The spec sheet lists a unit weight of 2.9kg / 6.6lbs. The key features also give a standard weight of 2.9kg/6.6lb and a trail weight of 2.6kg/5.7lb, and the page does not define the trail weight.

What season rating and capacity does it list?

What is it made of?

A 20D polyester PU coated rainfly (5,000HH), an Organza 32g/sqm floor and an Organza 32g/sqm insect mesh, held up by 2 x 8.5mm anodized aluminium poles.

You pay return shipping on opened products unless they are defective or were sent wrongly. Pre-loved and clearance sales are final.

What does the warranty cover?

What we couldn’t verify

  • The page calls this currently the lightest 2-person tree tent in the world and its lightest ever, but gives no comparison data.
  • A standard weight of 2.9kg/6.6lb and a trail weight of 2.6kg/5.7lb are both given; the page does not define the trail weight or what either figure covers.
  • Set-up time is not consistent: 15 Minutes on a banner against 10 - 20 minutes in the FAQ.
  • Independent testing of this exact product: none found; the outside coverage located covers the Connect (hands-on, 2024) and the Stingray (specs summary).
  • "Rated 4.5/5, 1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers" are the store's own page-header claims, not checked.
  • The returns page gives a $50 restocking fee for used products and a $30 fee for non-warranty returns in different places.
  • The spec numbers come from the spec sheet image on the product page, read by hand on 20 October 2026.
