Tentsile Trillium Giant 3-Person Camping Hammock (3.0) Review
Three adults, or 2 adults + 2 kids, fit this Tentsile giant hammock (3.0) at $379 in Green Fabric or Black Mesh (Black Mesh showed as out of stock when read). The spec sheet gives 880lbs / 400kg, 17.1lbs / 7.8kg and a 78sqft / 7.25sqm floor, so it suits families or groups with three trees.

Our verdict
Worth a look for families or groups of up to three adults who want a large suspended platform and can find three healthy trees: it lists $379 with an 880lbs / 400kg capacity. Look elsewhere if you need the mesh version now (Black Mesh showed as out of stock when read), a lighter two-person hammock, or more than 880lbs / 400kg. The main caveat is that the Variant Bundles label and a single floor fabric leave it unclear how the two options differ.
- Best for
- Families or small groups of up to 3 adults who want a wide hammock and have three healthy trees.
- Skip if
- You want the Black Mesh version now, since it showed as out of stock when read.
Why 3.7/5: Lifted by a full spec sheet covering capacity, weight, floor size and fabric, plus one price for both options. Held back by the Black Mesh option showing out of stock, no independent test of this exact hammock, and the need for three suitable trees and practice.
Made for three, the Trillium Giant 3-Person Camping Hammock (3.0) is a suspended platform that the page says sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 kids on a 400kg / 880lbs capacity. The spec sheet adds a 17.1lbs / 7.8kg unit weight, a 78sqft / 7.25sqm floor area and a 240D nylon/polyester composite floor, PU coated. It costs $379 in Green Fabric or Black Mesh, though Black Mesh showed as out of stock when read.

Options and pricing
Both options cost $379: Green Fabric was available, and Black Mesh showed as out of stock when read (the page marks it Sold out). The option selector is labelled Variant Bundles, but the text describes a single hammock, and the spec sheet gives one floor fabric for both options. It lists 3 x 35mm x 6m straps, 3 x 2.5-tonne rated ratchets and 3 x blue tree protector wraps alongside the hammock; the page shows no separate price for them.
How it compares
Same capacity, higher price: the Safari Trillium 3-Person Hammock (3.1) shares the 880lbs / 400kg capacity and 78sqft / 7.25sqm floor but lists $499 and 18.7lbs / 8.5kg, against $379 and 17.1lbs / 7.8kg here. For two sleepers, the Safari Duo 2-Person Hammock (3.1) lists $379 with a 43sqft / 4sqm floor, and the Trillium XL 6-Person Hammock (3.1) lists $549 with a 1200lbs / 550kg capacity and a 170sqft / 15.5sqm floor.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Shipping is free on orders over $199 sent from the US (lower 48) and EU countries; for Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand the page says its rates are kept as low as it can and gives a rough guide of $10 for most accessories and $20 for heavier items inside the US mainland. Average delivery is 3 to 5 working days in the US and EU and 7 to 10 days for the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. PO Box addresses are refused. The page says no extra taxes or duties apply to purchases from the US, EU, Canada, Australia or the UK, optional cover from Route can be added at checkout, and free shipping covers the first delivery attempt only; stack and accessory parts can come from different warehouses and arrive in separate packages. Returns: unused, unopened products in their original packaging can go back within 30 days of receipt, and opened or tested products can too, with a restocking fee the page gives as $20 for an unopened box and $50 for a used product (another line on the same page says $30 for all non-warranty returns). You pay return shipping on opened products unless they are defective or were sent wrongly, pre-loved and clearance sales are final, Canadian returns go to a US return centre with duties paid, and EU returns that are not warranty cases go to the UK. Warranty: products bought on tentsile.com after January 2025 carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects when used as the manuals say; straps and ratchets are covered for 5 years and a rainfly is meant to be replaced about every 3 years. The exclusions include poles and pegs, wear and tear, UV degradation (fabric rated for 1,500 hours for black mesh, 2,500 hours for green fabric and 3,500 hours for Safari fabric), snow load over 1 inch, high winds and products bought from third parties. Orders from $35 to $2,000 can be split into four payments with Zip, ClearPay, PayPal or Afterpay.
Before you buy
Tentsile's page header says "Rated 4.5/5" with "1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers"; these are the store's own figures and were not checked. Independent coverage we could open is thin: a hands-on review of the Connect by TechGadgetsCanada (March 2024, about 8 set-ups and 4 to 5 nights) found a steep learning curve, workable trees at only about half of its stops and one cold night, and a Wilderness Times write-up of the Stingray summarises specs and owner feedback without showing any hands-on testing. Tentsile's own pages set limits that matter, for example a recommended set-up height of 1.2m / 4ft on its Trilogy page, a 1 inch snow-load limit in its warranty terms and an FAQ warning that tension loads can reach 15kN, so only healthy trees should be used. The store also warns about copycat sites, and its returns and warranty terms apply to purchases made on tentsile.com.
What we liked
- 880lbs / 400kg capacity and a 78sqft / 7.25sqm floor area are both stated on the spec sheet
- The page says it sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 kids, with the anti-roll system creating 3 separate bays
- Hardware is itemised: 3 x 35mm x 6m straps and 3 x 2.5-tonne rated ratchets
- Listed at $379 for either option, with no price gap between Green Fabric and Black Mesh
- The page lists it as stackable underneath any 3-p Tentsile Tree Tent
Worth noting
- Black Mesh showed as out of stock when read, so only Green Fabric was available
- At 17.1lbs / 7.8kg it weighs more than the 2-person hammocks listed alongside it, such as the Safari Duo at 7.5kg / 16.5lbs
- The FAQ says fabric hammocks retain rainwater while mesh ones do not, and the mesh option is the one that showed out of stock
- The FAQ says the 3 trees need to be healthy and at less than 90 degree angles from each other

The spec sheet gives a 240D nylon/polyester composite, PU coated floor fabric, with 3 x 35mm x 6m straps, 3 x 2.5-tonne rated ratchets and 3 x blue tree protector wraps. The key features add 20m of seatbelt webbing.
Is the Trillium Giant stackable under a tree tent?
The key features list it as stackable underneath any 3-p Tentsile Tree Tent, and the page mentions multi-storey camping stacks with tree tents. It does not name specific tent models.
Can I return it if I change my mind?

What we couldn’t verify
- Black Mesh showed as sold out when read, and the spec sheet gives one floor fabric without saying whether it applies to Black Mesh, Green Fabric or both.
- The option selector is labelled Variant Bundles, but the page lists no bundle contents; both variants are priced $379.
- The banner promises 15 minutes for set-up and the FAQ says 10 minutes, longer the first time; the page does not say which applies to this hammock.
- Independent testing of this exact product: none found; the outside coverage located covers the Connect (hands-on, 2024) and the Stingray (specs summary).
- "Rated 4.5/5, 1100+ reviews" and "120,000+ Happy Customers" are the store's own page-header claims, not checked.
- The returns page gives a $50 restocking fee for used products and a $30 fee for non-warranty returns in different places.
- The spec numbers come from the spec sheet image on the product page, read by hand on 20 October 2026.
- Some options showed as out of stock when the page was read on 20 October 2026.
