Our verdict

A fit for buyers who want an R2R desktop DAC with the balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs and six inputs its pictures list, Bluetooth 5.1 among them, and a choice of EU, US or UK plug at $999. Look elsewhere if you need a weight figure or an outside measurement. The main caveat is that the dynamic-range headline matches only the XLR output, and the figures are from pictures on the store's page: no independent test was checked for this review.

Why 3.3/5: Weighed down by a page with no written specification list, by claims that sit in pictures (three were not read and several were read only as OCR text), by the store's own terms contradicting each other, and by no independent test having been checked.

TOPPING's Centaurus is a desktop R2R DAC, and HiFiGO lists it at $999. A picture on the page describes a fully balanced 8-channel R2R architecture, and another says TOPPING collaborates with HOLO AUDIO. The parameter table pictured there gives XLR and RCA outputs, THD+N under 0.0005% at 1kHz on both and dynamic range of 130dB on XLR and 126dB on RCA; other pictures show inputs for USB, optical, coaxial, AES, IIS-LVDS and Bluetooth 5.1.

Options and pricing

Six options are listed at $999 each: black with EU, US or UK plug, and silver with US, UK or EU plug, all orderable when the page was read. The option names carry the plug region and the page lists the same $999 for each. A contents list in picture 17 names the Centaurus, a remote control, a USB cable, an AC cable, a Bluetooth antenna and a Product Information Card.

How it compares

The TOPPING D90 III Discrete Fully Balanced HiFi DAC is also $999 and is named discrete and fully balanced, while the Centaurus is named R2R. The Gustard Audalytic DR80 / DR80N Discrete R2R Streamer DAC is named R2R too and starts at $699.99, and the DAART Yulong DP1 Network / USB Digital Interface at $939 is named a digital interface rather than a DAC. Pick the Centaurus for an R2R DAC with the XLR and RCA outputs and Bluetooth 5.1 its pictures list, at $999; the DR80 suits a buyer with a lower budget.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • XLR and RCA outputs with THD+N under 0.0005% at 1kHz and SNR of 130dB on XLR and 126dB on RCA, per the pictured parameter table
  • Six inputs per the rear-panel picture: USB, optical, coaxial, AES, IIS-LVDS and Bluetooth
  • A contents list in picture 17 names a remote control, USB cable, AC cable, Bluetooth antenna and Product Information Card
  • The pictured parameter table gives output levels in 4V and 5V modes, plus noise, crosstalk, channel balance and output impedance
  • Size is given as 22.2 CM (W), 16.0CM (D) and 4.5CM (H) on the size drawings

Worth noting

  • No weight figure is given with the size drawings
  • The banner and the measured screen quote 130dB dynamic range, which matches only the XLR column; the RCA column gives 126dB
  • A picture says the 10-band PEQ works up to PCM 192kHz/32bit on all inputs except IIS

Questions before you buy

Which inputs and outputs does the Centaurus list?

The rear-panel picture shows balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs, and coaxial SPDIF, Bluetooth, AES, IIS (IIS-LVDS), optical SPDIF and USB inputs, plus a 12V trigger in and out on a 3.5mm jack.

What output levels are listed?

The pictured parameter table gives RCA at 2.1Vrms (4V mode) and 2.6Vrms (5V mode), and XLR at 4.2Vrms (4V mode) and 5.2Vrms (5V mode), at 0dBFS. Its note says the data is the result of the test in TOPPING laboratory with 4V output mode.

Which Bluetooth version and codecs are listed?

Pictures list Bluetooth 5.1 with a QCC5125 chip, up to 96kHz/24bit, and LDAC, aptX-Adaptive, aptX, aptX HD, AAC and SBC.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • The banner of 130dB dynamic range and the note SNR 130dB, DNR 130dB match only the XLR column of the parameter table; the RCA column gives 126dB. The table note says the data is the result of the test in TOPPING laboratory.
  • Pictured claims of a HOLO AUDIO collaboration, 8 resistor array networks, jitter as low as -150dB (shown with a pictured jitter test dated 2024/7/4) and a self-developed I/V conversion module are the page's own, and the Hi-Res badges are pictured labels.
  • Pictures 18, 20 and 21 (the IIS pin table and Audio Precision screenshots) were not read, and pictures 02-05, 07, 09, 11 and 13-15 were read from OCR text only. No independent test was checked for this review.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
