Sweaty Yeti Models Compared: Which Backyard Sauna or Plunge Unit?

The $29,700 Sauna is the smallest; the 8 × 17 ft models from $44,400 add a bigger sauna, a cold plunge room or a workout room. All are factory-built, delivered within 250 miles and sold on the same contract terms.

Sweaty Yeti, the sauna brand of Utah's Irontown Modular, sells eight factory-built backyard units. All but the 8 × 9 ft Sauna share an 8 × 17 ft shell, and they differ in what fills it: a bigger sauna, a cold plunge room, a changing room or a workout room. Base prices run from $29,700 to $55,200 before options, tax and site work.

Every model is sold on the same terms: a 10% deposit that's refundable for five days only, the balance due before construction starts, delivery within 250 miles included, and a warranty whose terms are available only on request. You arrange a pad, a 240 V circuit and, for the plunge and shower models, a water line. So the choice is about the rooms you want and the power you can supply, and Sweaty Yeti's documents often give different amperage figures, so have an electrician confirm yours.

This page compares five of the eight; the questions below cover the Sauna Plus, the Sauna Plus Barrel Plunge and the Fit Studio.

1. Smallest and cheapest: a sauna only

Sweaty Yeti Sauna

$29,700 buys a fully built 4–6 person cedar sauna on an 8 × 9 ft footprint, set on your pad by the seller's crew. It's $22,000 less than the Sauna Plunge and needs less room, but it's a sauna only: no changing room, plunge or indoor shower. Sweaty Yeti's documents give two power figures, 50 A in the FAQ and 60 A in the owner's manual, so have your electrician confirm.

Best for
Homeowners who want a fully built 4–6 person backyard sauna without assembling a kit.
Skip if
You also want a cold plunge or a changing room, or a kit you build yourself fits the budget better.

2. Biggest sauna: 8–12 people

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Max

The whole 8 × 17 ft shell is one 8–12 person sauna, the most seating in the range, for $500 more than the Sauna Plus. It also has the highest power demand, 75 A on the order page and 70 A in the owner's manual, no changing room or plunge, and fewer options: no mini-split, cove heater, ceiling fan or cedar ceiling.

Best for
Groups — a large family, a rental or a boutique gym — who want one big sauna for 8–12 people.
Skip if
You want a changing room or cold plunge, or can't add a 70–75 amp, 240 V circuit.

3. Hot and cold: sauna plus a plunge room

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Plunge

A 4–6 person sauna and a separate cold plunge room with a tub and chiller made by Plunge, under one roof. It costs $22,000 more than the Sauna alone, needs a water supply, and its plumbing has to be winterized in freezing climates. For $3,500 more, the Sauna Plus Barrel Plunge swaps in a wooden barrel tub.

Best for
Homeowners who want a sauna and a cold plunge room delivered fully built, with a budget well over $50,000.
Skip if
You only want a sauna, or you can't add a pad, a 240 V circuit and a water line.

4. Cold plunge room only, up to two tubs

Sweaty Yeti Plunge Max

An insulated cold plunge room with one tub and space for a second ($9,180), for people who plunge often and don't need a sauna. Its power need appears only on the order page (60 A), and its model page and order page differ on whether the optional shower is indoors or out on the deck.

Best for
People who want a daily cold plunge in a sheltered, insulated room — alone or two at a time.
Skip if
You want a sauna too, or an outdoor plunge tub on its own would do.

5. Sauna plus a workout room

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Fit

A 4–6 person sauna beside a workout room finished in drywall and commercial sheet flooring, each with its own door. The gym equipment in Sweaty Yeti's illustrations isn't included, and the power figures disagree: 50 A on the order page, 60 A (80 A with a mini-split) in the owner's manual. The Fit Studio, the workout room alone, costs $14,900 less.

Best for
People who train at home and want a sauna beside their workout space in one finished building.
Skip if
You only need a gym or only a sauna — the Fit Studio or the 8 × 9 ft Sauna costs far less.

How we compared

We compared the models using each one's model page and order page, Sweaty Yeti's FAQ, terms and conditions and Process page, its features page and features sheet, and the August 2026 owner's manual, all read on October 17, 2026. We haven't been inside these units: the table gives the brand's published figures, with both figures where its documents disagree.

Prices are base prices from the order pages; options cost extra, from $250 to $6,640 each on the 8 × 17 ft models. Seating is as each model page states it.

Questions before you buy

What about the Sauna Plus, the Barrel Plunge and the Fit Studio?

The Sauna Plus ($46,400) pairs the sauna with a changing room; Sweaty Yeti's pages give its seating as 6–8 or 4–6. The Sauna Plus Barrel Plunge ($55,200) has a wooden barrel tub instead of the Sauna Plunge's standard one and costs $3,500 more. The Fit Studio ($32,300) is the workout room alone, with no sauna.

What does the deposit commit me to?

A 10% deposit at checkout, fully refundable for five days after purchase and nonrefundable after that. The contract asks for the balance within ten days of purchase (the Process page says ten business days of the deposit), and construction starts only once the unit is paid in full or financing has funded.

Is delivery included?

Within 250 miles, by truck and trailer. Elsewhere in the lower 48 states you get a quote, and Alaska, Hawaii and Canada cost extra. A crane or other special equipment is billed on top, and placement on your pad is a $250 option on the order pages.

How long does it take?

About 60–90 days to build in the factory, per Sweaty Yeti's FAQ and Process page; the unit is then set in place in a day.

Is there financing?

Sweaty Yeti lists two lenders: Nelnet Bank through Buildertrend, with loans of $3,500 to $150,000, APRs from 9.49% and terms up to 15 years, and the GreenSky program, with fixed-rate plans over 120 or 180 months or a 12-month deferred-interest plan. Rates depend on your credit.
