Our verdict

A fit for buyers whose headphones use a balanced 2.5mm plug and who want output power listed at 32ohm and 16ohm with its conditions. Look elsewhere if you need a 3.5mm output, since the page says unbalanced adapters are not recommended. The main caveat is dynamic range, which the page gives as 133db(A) in one place and 130db A-weighted in another.

Best for
Listeners with balanced 2.5mm headphones who want output power listed at 32ohm and 16ohm.
Skip if
You need a 3.5mm output, as the page lists only a balanced 2.5mm jack and does not recommend unbalanced adapters.

Why 3.6/5: Lifted by a list of specification figures in the page text. Held back by the store's own terms contradicting each other; no independent test was checked for this review: every figure is the store's own.

E1DA's 9039S is a USB-C DAC and headphone amplifier that HiFiGO lists at $139 in a single 2.5mm option. The page names the ES9039Q2M chip, and its specification section gives a balanced 2.5mm output with A&K pinout, PCM up to 32b/384kHz and DSD256 on the input, and 48x22x9mm at 10g. It runs from a USB 5V power rail with no internal battery, per the page.

Options and pricing

One option is listed, named 9039S-2.5mm, at $139, and it was orderable when the page was read. The option name matches the balanced 2.5mm jack in the specification section. The page text gives no in-the-box list, so it does not say whether a cable or an adapter is included, and it gives no color choice.

How it compares

The E1DA 9038D6K USB Headphone Amp 3.5mm Jack Unbalanced Output DAC+HPA is $135 and its name gives a 3.5mm unbalanced output, while the 9039S at $139 lists only a balanced 2.5mm jack. The TANCHJIM Space Pro Dual CS43198 Portable USB DAC/AMP starts at $145.20 and its spec line names dual CS43198 DAC chips with dual ES8262 amp chips, where the 9039S page names ES9039Q2M, AD8397 and OPA1612 chipsets. Choose the 9039S if your headphones use a balanced 2.5mm plug; choose the 9038D6K if you plug in with 3.5mm.

Shipping, returns and warranty

HiFiGO sells from hifigo.com and says every order leaves its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after it is placed, and says its delivery times are estimates, not promises. Its shipping policy gives the United States 1-2 weeks (about 10 days on average) by Priority and 6-10 days by Premium, both with duties and taxes prepaid by the store; Canada 2-3 weeks; the United Kingdom 1-2 weeks; and Australia 10-15 days. Express couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) take 3-7 days, but then the buyer pays any duties and taxes. No shipping page names New Zealand, PO boxes are not accepted, and the free-shipping thresholds differ between the store's own pages, so check the cart. One of its two shipping pages adds that a lost parcel on an order above $50 gets only a 50% refund. A US buyer reported a $40 tariff charge in August 2025, after which HiFiGO said it had added a customs notice at checkout.

Read the return terms before you order. The homepage advertises 7-day returns. Both of HiFiGO's policy pages offer a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover (a replacement or a full refund, with the return postage refunded) and also describe 30-day returns, but a request made 7 to 30 days after delivery loses 30% of the MSRP as a restocking fee (10% more if the packaging is incomplete), plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same pages says there is no refund or exchange once 7 days have passed. One version recommends reselling an opened product locally. Custom IEMs and custom cables cannot be returned, no return address is published, and buyers describe sending items back to China.

HiFiGO's warranty runs one year from the order date for parts and labor; its policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles at one year and gives cables and adapters three months. HiFiGO decides between repair and replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and faulty items go back for service, not for a refund. Claims go to [email protected], the only contact the store lists: its pages name no company, street address or phone, and its terms are governed by the laws of China.

On Trustpilot, HiFiGO had 4.6 out of 5 from 378 reviews when we checked on 2026-10-28 (91% five-star, 5% one-star), and it had replied to about 75% of negative reviews; Trustpilot notes the store has not invited customers to review recently. The one-star reviews mostly concern the short return window and the deductions on returns, items listed in stock that turned out back-ordered, slow email support and a tariff charge on a US delivery in 2025. HiFiGO says its products are genuine and come in the brands' retail packaging; it does not claim to be an authorized dealer.

What we liked

  • Balanced 2.5mm output with an A&K pinout, plus 0.1 Ohm output impedance listed
  • Size and weight are listed: 48x22x9mm and 10g
  • USB-C input with PCM up to 32b/384kHz and DSD256 per the page

Worth noting

  • Only a balanced 2.5mm jack is listed, and the page says unbalanced adapters are not recommended
  • Dynamic range is 133db(A) in the description and 130db A-weighted in the specification section
  • No internal battery: the page lists a USB 5V power rail and a 150mA idle current
  • The reliability and real-world claims in the description come with no data

Questions before you buy

Can the 9039S drive headphones with a 3.5mm plug?

The page lists only a balanced 2.5mm jack with an A&K pinout. It notes that unbalanced adapters are not recommended because they can damage the DAC, and the page text lists no 3.5mm output.

What output power does the 9039S list?

The specification section lists 400mW at 32ohm and 680mW at 16ohm, each channel, at 1kHz and THD=1%. It gives the measuring level as +0.5dbFS with the unit powered from a typical PC USB2 port.

Does the 9039S have a battery?

No. The page says it uses a USB 5V power rail with no internal battery and a 150mA idle current.

Where does HiFiGO ship from, and how long does it take?

From its warehouse in China, usually 1-3 business days after the order. The shipping policy gives 1-2 weeks to the US by Priority (6-10 days by Premium), both with duties and taxes prepaid, 2-3 weeks to Canada, 1-2 weeks to the UK and 10-15 days to Australia. Express couriers take 3-7 days, but the buyer pays any duties.

Can I send it back if I change my mind?

HiFiGO gives 7 days to report an item that arrives dead, damaged or wrong. Its policy also describes 30-day returns, but requests 7 to 30 days after delivery lose 30% of the MSRP plus shipping both ways and duties, and the FAQ on the same page says no refund or exchange after 7 days. Ask [email protected] before you open the box.

What warranty does HiFiGO give?

One year from the order date for parts and labor, for faults in build or materials (the policy names desktop DACs and amps, IEMs and dongles; cables and adapters get three months). HiFiGO chooses repair or replacement, the buyer pays the shipping, and a faulty item is serviced rather than refunded. Claims go to [email protected].

What we couldn’t verify

  • Dynamic range is 133db(A) in the description and 130db A-weighted in the specification section. The store title says Balanced Input, while the specification section lists a balanced 2.5mm output and a USB-C input.
  • The description says dual ES9039Q2M chips, but the specification section names ES9039Q2M/AD8397/OPA1612 chipsets without a count. Its claims about real-world trials, reliability and support come with no data in the page text.
  • The page text names a Tweak_9039.exe app for settings but does not say which settings it changes or which systems run it.
  • HiFiGO's policy pages contradict each other: 30-day returns with a 30% restocking fee in one place, no refund or exchange after 7 days in the FAQ.
  • HiFiGO's pages name no company, street address or phone number; the only contact given is [email protected].
