Douk Audio BS-1 50W Bass Shaker Transducer Review
A tactile bass transducer that turns sofas, gaming chairs and car seats into body-shaking low-frequency sources. The 2025 upgraded BS-1 pushes 50W at 6 ohms with a redesigned heat sink and chrome-plated pure copper terminals.

Our verdict
The BS-1 is a tactile transducer for people who want home-theater and racing-sim bass they can physically feel through their seat, not just hear through their ears. This upgraded May 2025 build brings better heat management and plated copper terminals, and at $99.99 it is an affordable way to add a whole extra sense to gaming and movie nights. Budget for a matching bass shaker amplifier and a little mounting work under your seating.
- Best for
- Gamers and movie fans who want to feel bass through their seat as much as hear it.
- Skip if
- You do not already have a bass shaker amplifier ready to drive a 6-ohm transducer.
Why 3.6/5: Lifted by a detailed parameter list (impedance, resonance, frequency range, wiring examples) and a clear warning on amplifier power and impedance. Held back by a single-unit price nearly triple the BS-2's, power figures that disagree (50W, 100W) and no amplifier or cable in the box.
The Douk Audio BS-1 is a bass shaker - a tactile transducer rather than a speaker - priced at $99.99. Instead of pushing air toward your ears, it mounts to seating and vibrates in time with low frequencies, so you feel explosions in movies, engine rumble in racing simulators and deep musical bass through your body. The store sells it as a single unit or a pair, with a plug type for your region.
This is the latest upgraded version, released in May 2025. Douk Audio redesigned the heat sink to improve output efficiency and fitted chrome-plated pure copper terminals that resist corrosion over time. Rated power is 50W nominal at 6 ohms, and the maker notes the BS-1 will not overload your listening area the way a big subwoofer can - perceived loudness actually improves at lower listening volumes.
Setup is straightforward but does require a dedicated amplifier: connect the BS-1 to a bass shaker amp the same way you would wire a subwoofer. For single-unit use, the 6-ohm shaker must be hooked up to an amplifier that is stereo or bridged mono. Douk Audio recommends installing it under seating that is not fixed to the floor for the strongest effect, whether in a home theater, a gaming chair or a car system.

| Warm tips (page) | A single unit must go to a stereo or bridged-mono amplifier, wired like a subwoofer; check the amplifier manual for its impedance rating; two in series raise the impedance to 12Ω, two in parallel lower it to 3Ω, and 4 or 8 in series-parallel keep it at 6 or 3Ω; do not exceed 50W RMS per shaker multiplied by the number of shakers (for example 50 x 4 = 200W RMS) |
| Install (page) | Under seating that is not fixed to the floor; speaker wire with banana plugs, polarity matched; then set the amplifier crossover and volume |
How it compares
At $99.99 for one, the BS-1 costs $63.00 more than the Douk Audio BS-2 ($36.99) and is the heavier, higher-rated shaker: 50W nominal and 100W max at 6Ω, a 20-200Hz response, a 30Hz resonance, a 1.48kg body and a listed vibration force of 30 lbs. per ft., against the BS-2's 30W rated and 50W max at 4Ω, a 57-63Hz resonance and 532g. The BS-2 page calls itself the next model after the BS-1, while this page labels the BS-1 the latest version (released May 2025). Both pages say a shaker needs an amplifier, and neither includes one.
A 6Ω shaker fits the amplifiers whose pages list a range that takes in 6Ω: the Douk Audio G100 ($72.99) lists 4-8Ω in BTL mode for two shakers and 2-8Ω in PBTL mode, and says it is designed to drive the BS-1 and BS-2; the Douk Audio BSA-600 ($279.99) lists 2-8Ω and up to 4 shakers in mono or 8 in stereo. Who it suits: the BS-1 fits a sofa or chair build with a 6Ω-capable amplifier and room for a larger, heavier unit. Skip it for a first, low-cost trial, since the BS-2 costs $63.00 less. Mind the load: the page says a single 6Ω shaker must go to a stereo or bridged-mono amplifier, and that 50W RMS per shaker is the ceiling although its table lists 100W max input.
Shipping, returns and warranty
- Shipping: Douk Audio's current shipping page says orders are generally processed no later than the next business day and arrive in 2-8 business days, with duties, taxes and customs fees included in the checkout price unless noted otherwise.
- Older shipping terms are still online: airmail at 10-25 days for parcels under 2 kg, DHL, UPS or FedEx at 5-8 days above that, and a line saying the store is not responsible for import duties. Check the delivery estimate and any duties at checkout.
- Returns: ask within 30 days of delivery and wait for approval before sending anything; an approved return has to ship within 7 days. Items need all packaging and accessories and no excessive wear, or the store can refuse them or refund part of the price. Refunds go to the original payment method after inspection.
- Not refunded: original and expedited shipping, duties, taxes and customs charges, unless the law requires it or the store made the error. The return page does not say who pays return postage, and the older refund page excludes mistaken orders and change-of-mind returns from free after-sale service.
- Warranty: 24 months from purchase for manufacturing defects, with free repair, a replacement unit and free shipping both ways for covered repairs. Drops, liquid, DIY repairs, lightning, extreme temperatures and misuse are excluded (partial fees may apply), and damage from weak packing on the way back may not be covered. The older refund page still says 1 year.
- Seller: the site is run by Shenzhen Anba Technology Co., Ltd (Shenzhen, China) and HONGKONG LONGSHENG Import and Export Trading Co., Limited (Hong Kong); support is by email at [email protected]. These terms cover orders placed on doukaudio.com; other sellers apply their own.
For this product, the page lists shipping to US, UK, EU, AU and Other and shows Free Shipping, 2-8 Days Arrival, 30-Day Return and 2-Year Warranty badges near the price.
What we liked
- Adds body-shaking low frequencies you feel through the seat, from movie explosions to racing-sim road feel
- 2025 upgraded version with a redesigned heat sink for better output efficiency
- Chrome-plated pure copper terminals for long-term durability and corrosion resistance
- Hooks up to a bass shaker amplifier the same way a subwoofer would
- Comes as a single unit or a pair, with plug types for US, UK, EU and AU
Worth noting
- No amplifier included - it needs a bass shaker amplifier to drive the 6-ohm load
- A single unit must be wired to a stereo or bridged-mono amp like a subwoofer; plain single-channel hookup is not supported
- Best results require mounting it under seating that is not fixed to the floor, so some DIY installation is involved
Questions before you buy
Does the BS-1 include an amplifier?
No. It is the shaker itself and is designed to connect to a bass shaker amplifier, which is sold separately.
How do I connect a single BS-1?
At 6 ohms, a single unit must be connected to an amplifier that is either stereo or bridged mono, wired the same way you would connect a subwoofer.
Where should the BS-1 be installed?
The manufacturer recommends installing it under seating that is not fixed to the floor to achieve the greatest effect. It suits home theater, gaming and car setups.
What is the return and warranty policy?
Douk Audio's current policy pages give you 30 days from delivery to request a return, which Douk must approve before you send the item back (within 7 days of approval); original shipping fees and duties aren't refunded. Its warranty covers manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, with free repair or replacement.

What we couldn’t verify
- $99.99 is the 1PC option (one shaker); the 1Pair option is $179.99. The page opens on 1PC, so its visible text shows only $99.99.
- Power: the Parameters list 50W nominal and 100W max input, the warning says not to exceed 50W RMS per shaker, and an image caption says 'under 100W RMS'; the page does not reconcile the three.
- 'Boosts cooling by 30%' (heat sink) and 'perceived loudness improves at lower volumes' are page claims with no measurement; no conditions are given for the 30 lbs. per ft. vibration force.
- The review says the options include plug types for US, UK, EU and AU; the page's options are 1PC or 1Pair and a 'Shipping to' region, and it names no plug type (the shaker connects by speaker wire with banana plugs).
- The packing list shows only the shaker or pair, each marked '(Optional)': no amplifier, speaker wire, banana plugs or mounting plate. The dimensions line reads '158*145mm (Max.)' without saying which figure is the diameter or the height.
- Warranty: the 2-Year Warranty badge is all this product page says about cover; exclusions are on the store's warranty page (see the shared section).
