Douk Audio DAC-T1 PRO Tube Stereo Preamp Review
A full-featured desktop DAC and tube preamp at $169.99: ESS9028Q2M conversion, QCC5125 Bluetooth with LDAC, USB and S/PDIF inputs, JAN5654 tubes with a bypass function, and an OLED display.

Our verdict
The DAC-T1 PRO is a $169.99 desktop hub that combines a serious digital front end with tube flavor: ESS9028Q2M conversion, QCC5125 Bluetooth with APTX-HD and LDAC, five input types and a JAN5654 tube stage you can bypass at the push of a button. Add an OLED display, treble/bass control and a remote, and it covers streaming, desktop listening and headphone duty in one box. The trade-offs are a 0.08% THD figure and RCA-only analog outputs.
- Best for
- Desktop listeners who want one box for USB, Bluetooth and S/PDIF conversion plus switchable tube warmth and headphone output.
- Skip if
- You need balanced XLR outputs, or you want the lowest possible distortion without tube coloration.
Why 3.8/5: Lifted by a full parameter list, five inputs and a tube bypass for $169.99. Held back by distortion and noise figures with no test conditions, a USB driver the page does not describe, and store terms that leave return postage unsaid.
The Douk Audio DAC-T1 PRO is a tube stereo preamp, USB DAC and Bluetooth receiver priced at $169.99, designed as a compact desktop centerpiece with a retro tube window and a modern OLED display in one chassis.
The digital section is built from named parts: a QCC5125 Bluetooth chip supporting APTX, APTX-HD and LDAC, an ESS9028Q2M independent DAC chip, an OPA1656 op amp, an NJW1194 digital tone control chip and a 9123 USB chip with a special driver for 24-bit / 192kHz transmission. Rated frequency response is 20Hz-20kHz within plus or minus 0.5dB with THD of 0.08%, and the PC-USB and coaxial/optical paths both accept 24-bit / 192kHz. PC-USB works with Windows 7 through 10, MAC and Linux.
Inputs number five: Bluetooth, PC-USB, coaxial, optical and stereo RCA, covering phones, tablets, computers and digital players. Outputs are stereo RCA and a 3.5mm headphone jack driven by a classic headphone amp architecture with two NE5532 op-amps, delivering enough power to drive headphones up to 300 ohm. Treble and bass controls let you tune the sound to taste.
The tube stage ships with imported JAN5654 tubes, which Douk Audio says make music sound soft, delicate and dynamic. A bypass function makes it easy to hear the difference between the digital path and the tube path, and the pluggable sockets accept 6J1N, 6AK5 and EF95 tubes for different flavors. A large OLED display indicates working status, and a full-function remote covers all settings from a distance.

How it compares
The closest match is the Douk Audio P1 PLUS Bluetooth Tube Preamp review ($189.99): both are Bluetooth tube preamps with a USB DAC, a headphone amp, an OLED screen, a remote and JAN5654 tubes. On paper the P1 PLUS goes further on resolution and headphone drive: its page lists PCM 384KHz/32Bit and DSD256 over USB against 24bit/192KHz on the DAC-T1 PRO page, and up to 750mW with a 16-600Ω matched range against 150mW and 16-300Ω here. It also adds pluggable VU meters, an optical output and a 3.5mm AUX input. The DAC-T1 PRO page prints the lower distortion and noise figures (THD 0.08% against 0.1%, SNR 110dB or better against 106dB or better) and the price is $20.00 lower, though neither page gives test conditions.
The Douk Audio P1 Bluetooth Tube Preamp USB DAC review ($89.99) covers the same three jobs (tube preamp, USB DAC and headphone amp) for $80.00 less, with Bluetooth 5.0 and aptX-HD, PC-USB and RCA inputs and no optical or coaxial input. Its USB also stops at 24bit/192KHz, its headphone figure is 160mW into 32Ω for 32-300Ω headphones, and its page prints THD 0.01% and SNR 103dB. Take the P1 if Bluetooth, USB and RCA are all you plug in. Take the DAC-T1 PRO if a TV, CD transport or streamer needs the coaxial or optical input, or if you want the bypass the page describes for comparing digital and tube sound. For Bluetooth and a tube stage at the lowest entry price, the Douk Audio P6 MINI Bluetooth Tube Preamp review ($49.99) has no headphone output and no PC-USB, coaxial or optical input: its page lists Bluetooth 5.0, U-disk and stereo RCA in, stereo RCA out and a 6A2 tube.
Shipping, returns and warranty
- Shipping: Douk Audio's current shipping page says orders are generally processed no later than the next business day and arrive in 2-8 business days, with duties, taxes and customs fees included in the checkout price unless noted otherwise.
- Older shipping terms are still online: airmail at 10-25 days for parcels under 2 kg, DHL, UPS or FedEx at 5-8 days above that, and a line saying the store is not responsible for import duties. Check the delivery estimate and any duties at checkout.
- Returns: ask within 30 days of delivery and wait for approval before sending anything; an approved return has to ship within 7 days. Items need all packaging and accessories and no excessive wear, or the store can refuse them or refund part of the price. Refunds go to the original payment method after inspection.
- Not refunded: original and expedited shipping, duties, taxes and customs charges, unless the law requires it or the store made the error. The return page does not say who pays return postage, and the older refund page excludes mistaken orders and change-of-mind returns from free after-sale service.
- Warranty: 24 months from purchase for manufacturing defects, with free repair, a replacement unit and free shipping both ways for covered repairs. Drops, liquid, DIY repairs, lightning, extreme temperatures and misuse are excluded (partial fees may apply), and damage from weak packing on the way back may not be covered. The older refund page still says 1 year.
- Seller: the site is run by Shenzhen Anba Technology Co., Ltd (Shenzhen, China) and HONGKONG LONGSHENG Import and Export Trading Co., Limited (Hong Kong); support is by email at [email protected]. These terms cover orders placed on doukaudio.com; other sellers apply their own.
For this product, the page has a 'Shipping to' selector (US, UK, EU, AU, Other) and shows Free Shipping, 2-8 Days Arrival, 30-Day Return and 2-Year Warranty badges near the price; the store's option data prices 'Other' at $179.99 against $169.99 for the other four.
What we liked
- Real chipset credentials: QCC5125 Bluetooth, ESS9028Q2M DAC, OPA1656 op amp, NJW1194 digital tone control and a 9123 USB chip
- Bluetooth 5.0 supports APTX, APTX-HD and LDAC for high-quality wireless streaming at distance
- Five input paths cover phones, computers, tablets, digital players, CD transports and more
- JAN5654 tubes warm the output, and a bypass function lets you A/B digital versus tube sound on the spot
- Classic headphone amp architecture with 2 x NE5532 drives headphones up to 300 ohm, with treble and bass shaping on top
Worth noting
- The 0.08% THD spec is more modest than a solid-state purist DAC at this price would show; the tube stage is the trade-off
- There are no balanced XLR outputs; connectivity is stereo RCA and 3.5mm headphone only
- Full 24-bit / 192kHz USB operation depends on the special 9123 USB driver, and the sound changes with whichever tubes you fit
Questions before you buy
Can I hear the difference between the tube and digital paths?
Yes. The DAC-T1 PRO has a bypass function that lets you compare the digital sound and the JAN5654 tube sound directly, and the tubes are pluggable, accepting 6J1N, 6AK5 and EF95 for different flavors.
What Bluetooth codecs are supported?
The QCC5125 chip supports Bluetooth 5.0 with APTX, APTX-HD and LDAC among the supported codecs, for lossless-style transmission at distance.
What headphone impedance can it drive?
The 2 x NE5532 headphone amp architecture provides enough output power to drive headphones up to 300 ohm through the 3.5mm jack.
What is the return and warranty policy?
Douk Audio's current policy pages give you 30 days from delivery to request a return, which Douk must approve before you send the item back (within 7 days of approval); original shipping fees and duties aren't refunded. Its warranty covers manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, with free repair or replacement.

What we couldn’t verify
- THD 0.08%, SNR 110dB or better and 20Hz-20kHz (±0.5dB) are printed with no test level, load or method, and the 150mW headphone figure names no load.
- The page calls the Bluetooth link 'lossless' and 'without delay' while listing aptX, aptX-HD, LDAC and SBC; it gives no bitrate, range or latency figure.
- Upgrade tubes: the page says '6*1N, 6AK5, EF95' and does not say which 6*1N types fit; this review's earlier text wrote 6J1N.
- 24-bit/192kHz over USB is tied to the 9123 chip's 'special driver'; the page lists W7/W8/W10/MAC/Linux but not which of them need the driver.
- The DC 12V adapter has no stated current rating or plug type, and the remote ships without batteries.
- Price: $169.99 is the US, UK, EU and AU option of the 'Shipping to' selector; the store's option data prices 'Other' at $179.99. The page text shows $169.99.
