Douk Audio U2-PRO-FC XU316 DDC Reclocker Review
A USB DDC/reclocker that converts USB audio to optical, coaxial and I2S for DACs and receivers without USB, built on the XMOS XU316 with Crystek femtosecond clocking. Listed as a pre-sale item.

Our verdict
The U2-PRO-FC is a specialist fix for a common problem: getting modern USB sources into older or console-oriented DACs, receivers and soundbars that only offer optical, coaxial or I2S connections. The Crystek femtosecond clock, XMOS XU316 processing up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, and a separate USB-C power input for linear supplies make it a serious digital front end for $249.99. Weigh the pre-sale wait and the Windows driver caveat above 384kHz before ordering.

Why 3.7/5: Lifted by I2S, optical and coaxial outputs, a dedicated power input, a printed pinout and a detailed driver FAQ. Held back by a pre-sale tag with an out-of-date dispatch notice, a jitter figure in picoseconds beside a femtosecond headline, and $249.99 against $69.99 for the U2 PRO.
The Douk Audio U2-PRO-FC is a USB DDC (digital-to-digital converter) and reclocker priced at $249.99. Its job is to take USB audio from computers, phones and streamers and convert it to optical, coaxial and I2S together — letting DACs, AV receivers and soundbars without a USB input join a modern digital chain.
At the core is XMOS XU316 asynchronous USB processing supporting PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, with I2S carrying the highest data rates beyond standard S/PDIF bandwidth. A Crystek CCHD-957 femtosecond clock lowers phase noise and jitter beyond standard clocking, which the maker says brings firmer imaging, cleaner separation and finer ambience cues. A dedicated USB-C power input supports premium or linear power supplies, matching the precision clocking with a serious power foundation.
Two switchable UAC modes broaden compatibility: UAC 1.0 gives driver-free USB audio for PS4, PS5 and Switch, while UAC 2.0 unlocks high-rate PCM and DSD from PCs, phones, tablets and streamers. Driver requirements are concrete: Windows 10 and above is driver-free for PCM up to 384kHz and needs the driver for higher rates and DSD; macOS, Android, iOS, Linux and the listed consoles are driver-free; Windows 7/8 always needs the driver. The compact aluminum chassis fits beside a DAC or amp, five LEDs show PCM/DSD format and sample rate at a glance, and the included 2-in-1 USB-A/USB-C cable plus optical cable cover most sources. The printed bottom-panel I2S pinout lets you verify compatibility quickly. As a pre-sale listing, the unit ships when stock arrives.

How it compares
At $249.99 the U2-PRO-FC costs $180.00 more than the Douk Audio U2 PRO ($69.99, Standard version), which matches it on paper: both pages list an XMOS XU316, optical, coaxial and I2S outputs, PCM to 768kHz/32bit and DSD512 over I2S, UAC 1.0/2.0 and THD+N 0.000008%. What the FC adds, per its page: Crystek CCHD-575 femtosecond oscillators (the U2 PRO ships with a 24.000MHz ±20PPM 5032 oscillator that can be replaced by soldering), a dedicated USB-C power input that accepts a linear supply, and a jitter figure of '≥ 69 ps (typical)' against 75ps (typical) for the U2 PRO. The U2 PRO page also lists a TXCO Version at $99.99 and a Femtosecond Version at $199.99, both sold out on Oct 25, 2026; the saved pages do not say how that Femtosecond Version differs from the U2-PRO-FC.
The Douk Audio U2 at $56.99, $193.00 less, is the simpler USB to S/PDIF converter: optical and coaxial only, PCM to 192kHz/24-bit and DSD64 over DoP, in a 40 x 52 x 20mm, 45g case. Who it suits: the FC fits a listener whose DAC takes I2S over an HDMI-style cable and who wants the clock and the dedicated power input its page describes; the pre-sale tag and the $249.99 price are the cost. The U2 PRO suits the same I2S chain on a budget, with a replaceable oscillator; the U2 suits a DAC or receiver that only has optical or coaxial input.
Shipping, returns and warranty
- Shipping: Douk Audio's current shipping page says orders are generally processed no later than the next business day and arrive in 2-8 business days, with duties, taxes and customs fees included in the checkout price unless noted otherwise.
- Older shipping terms are still online: airmail at 10-25 days for parcels under 2 kg, DHL, UPS or FedEx at 5-8 days above that, and a line saying the store is not responsible for import duties. Check the delivery estimate and any duties at checkout.
- Returns: ask within 30 days of delivery and wait for approval before sending anything; an approved return has to ship within 7 days. Items need all packaging and accessories and no excessive wear, or the store can refuse them or refund part of the price. Refunds go to the original payment method after inspection.
- Not refunded: original and expedited shipping, duties, taxes and customs charges, unless the law requires it or the store made the error. The return page does not say who pays return postage, and the older refund page excludes mistaken orders and change-of-mind returns from free after-sale service.
- Warranty: 24 months from purchase for manufacturing defects, with free repair, a replacement unit and free shipping both ways for covered repairs. Drops, liquid, DIY repairs, lightning, extreme temperatures and misuse are excluded (partial fees may apply), and damage from weak packing on the way back may not be covered. The older refund page still says 1 year.
- Seller: the site is run by Shenzhen Anba Technology Co., Ltd (Shenzhen, China) and HONGKONG LONGSHENG Import and Export Trading Co., Limited (Hong Kong); support is by email at [email protected]. These terms cover orders placed on doukaudio.com; other sellers apply their own.
For this product, the page lists shipping from US, UK, EU, AU and China, shows Free Shipping, 2-8 Days Arrival, 30-Day Return and 2-Year Warranty badges near the price, and adds a shipping notice (US orders around Oct. 30, other regions around Oct. 15).
What we liked
- Brings USB playback to DACs, AV receivers and soundbars that have no USB input, via optical, coaxial or I2S
- Crystek CCHD-957 femtosecond clocking targets lower phase noise and jitter for firmer imaging and finer ambience cues
- XMOS XU316 asynchronous USB handles PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, with I2S carrying the highest rates beyond standard S/PDIF bandwidth

What we couldn’t verify
- Clock: the page text says Crystek CCHD-575 (features and the Upgrade section), while the store's listing data still says CCHD-957, which the review used. The Clocking row shows both.
- Jitter: the page headlines 'femtosecond' clocking but lists jitter as '≥ 69 ps (typical)', in picoseconds; the U2 PRO page lists 75ps (typical). Neither page says how jitter was measured, and the page does not explain the '≥' sign.
- Dispatch: the page title has a [Pre-Sale] tag and its notice says US orders ship around Oct. 30 and other regions around Oct. 15. On Oct 25, 2026 the earlier date had passed with no update, and the badges still say 2-8 Days Arrival.
- THD+N 0.000008%, 'lossless transfer' and the claims of 'firmer imaging, cleaner separation and finer ambience cues' are maker statements; the page shows no measurements.
- Power: the page lists DC 5V with no current rating and no power supply in the packing list, so a USB-C supply is the buyer's to provide.
- I2S: the page says a mismatched DAC pinout may not work and lists no matching DACs; the connector is an HDMI-style jack labeled HDMI-IIS.
