DYU C9 20-Inch Long-Range Electric Bike Review
A 20-inch fat-tire folding e-bike with an aluminium alloy frame, a 250W motor and a removable 48V 15.6Ah battery, listed at €999. It suits riders who want fat tires and a large battery; the outside coverage found is of a different US-market C9.

Our verdict
Suited to riders who want a fat-tire folding e-bike with a large removable battery at €999 and who treat the 150km claim as the store's own figure. Look elsewhere if you need outside measurements of this exact specification or a lighter bike, since the three outside reviews found cover the more powerful US-market C9 and the page lists 30kg. The main caveat is that every speed, range and climbing figure on this page is the store's own.
- Best for
- Riders who want a fat-tire folding e-bike with a large removable battery and accept store-only range figures.
- Skip if
- You need independent range or speed data for this specification, or a lighter folding bike.
Why 3.4/5: Lifted by a page that lists motor, battery, weight, folded and expanded sizes and box contents; held back by outside reviews that cover only the different US-market C9, and by the store terms and reputation notes below.
Riding on 20 x 3.0-inch fat tires, the C9 is a folding e-bike listed at €999 with an aluminium alloy frame, a 250W motor and a removable 48V 15.6Ah battery. The page claims up to 150km in pedal assist mode, a 25km/h rated speed and a hydraulic disc brake, with 30kg on the spec list and a folded size of 970 x 465 x 760mm. All three outside reviews found are of the US-market C9, which has a much more powerful motor and different brakes, so their speed and power figures do not apply to this page.

Options and pricing
The page offers two colors at €999: Green, in stock when the page was read, and White, marked sold out. It shows a crossed-out price of €1,399. The box list shows the bike with one battery, a charger with cable, two pedals, a spanner and a manual, while front and rear baskets and other accessories are mentioned as additions.
How it compares
The DYU T1 20-Inch Foldable Electric Bike costs €699 and is a 20-inch folding bike with a magnesium frame, a 36V 10Ah battery, a torque sensor and 22.5kg; its page claims 60km, where the C9's page claims 150km. The DYU SP1 20-Inch Power Bank Folding E-Bike starts at €1,099 with an aluminum frame and a removable 24V 5Ah battery, and its 14 kg figure leaves out the fenders and the battery, while the C9 lists 30kg.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Where it sells: the shipping page names these EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden (Croatia appears twice); Germany is not on the list, and a cart test on 22 October 2026 returned no shipping rate for a German, UK, US, Swiss, Norwegian or Vietnamese address, while French, Spanish and Italian addresses got free delivery in an estimated 3 to 5 business days. Prices are in euros. Shipping: free over EUR 100, an estimated 3 to 5 business days, shipped within 2 working days from a Poland or German warehouse by FedEx, UPS or DPD (the FAQ page says 2 to 7 business days, and the Terms of Service say delivery 'may take up to 50 days'). Returns: the return page gives 30 days for a bike in its original packaging with under 10 km on the display; for a change of mind the buyer pays the return and EUR 200 per e-bike (EUR 100 per battery) is deducted, a defective bike is exchanged or refunded within 30 days, and cancelling before shipment costs 5%. The Terms of Service describe a 7-day dead-on-arrival rule, 10 days for faulty goods and 30 days for unopened items. Warranty: the warranty page gives one year from delivery for manufacturing defects: a replacement frame only (no labor), a battery repaired or replaced in year one and then a prorated credit, tires, brake pads and chains excluded, and claims by email to [email protected] with photos or video; product pages show a '12-24 Months Warranty' banner.
Before you buy
The page shows 13 customer reviews with 85% of them five-star in the store's own widget, which we could not verify. Reputation: Trustpilot lists dyucycle.com with a TrustScore of 3.7 from 209 reviews (60% five-star, 26% one-star), a profile claimed in June 2024 with a Dover, Delaware address, and says the company replies to negative reviews. Recent one-star reviews describe bikes cutting out while riding, requests for EUR 100 to 200 return fees, unanswered emails and, from a Dutch reviewer, a model that was not road legal in the Netherlands; we have not verified any of them. The registry shows dyucycle.com registered on 8 April 2021. The About page says DYU was founded in 2016 and sells in over 60 countries, which we could not confirm; the Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, while the contact page gives a Rotterdam office address. The page shows a crossed-out price of €1,399 next to its '60-Day Lowest Price Guarantee' banner; that is the store's own comparison figure. One color showed as sold out when the page was read on 22 October 2026.
What we liked
- 20 x 3.0-inch fat tires, a front shock absorber and a rear rack are listed, and the page mentions optional front and rear baskets
- The page lists an anti-theft removable 48V 15.6Ah battery, with a charging time of 7-8 h in the technical table
- A hydraulic disc brake, a headlight, an LED power display and a switch the page describes as a manual button to prevent accidental start are listed
- Folded size is listed as 970 x 465 x 760mm, and the page describes a three-step fold: lower the stem, tuck in the pedals, collapse the frame
Worth noting
- All three outside reviews are of the US-market C9, which has a much more powerful motor and different brakes, so their speed and power figures do not apply here
- On the US-market C9, The Gadgeteer (free DYU sample) noted a seat that sinks into the tube and short pedal cranks, and Stern Stalled a tiny headlight and a basic display
- The page's 150km range, 15-degree climbing figure and IP54 rating are the store's own claims with no stated method, and none of the outside reviews includes a range test
- The listed 30kg is heavier than the 22.5kg on the T1's spec list
Questions before you buy
Can the C9 battery be taken off the bike, and how long does it charge?
The page describes an anti-theft removable 48V 15.6Ah battery and a portable battery removal method. The technical table lists a lithium-ion type with a BMS and a charging time of 7-8 h. The page claims up to 150KM in pedal assist mode and states no method for that figure.
How does the C9 fold?
The page describes three steps: unfasten the quick release to lower the stem, tuck in the pedals and use the quick release to collapse the frame. The spec list gives a folded size of 970 x 465 x 760mm against an expanded size of 1720 x 645 x 1140-1285mm. The Gadgeteer, reviewing the US-market C9 on a free DYU sample, reports a fold in under two minutes.
Do the outside reviews apply to this C9?
Only in part. The three outside reviews found (The Gadgeteer, Stern Stalled and Hobart's Reviews) are of the US-market C9, which has a much more powerful motor and different brakes than the C9 this page lists, so their speed and power figures do not apply. Only build observations, such as a seat that sinks into the tube and short pedal cranks, might carry over.
Does DYU ship to my country?
The shipping page names 24 EU countries and prices are in euros. A cart test on 22 October 2026 gave free delivery in an estimated 3 to 5 business days for French, Spanish and Italian addresses and no shipping rate for German, UK, US, Swiss, Norwegian or Vietnamese addresses. Ask [email protected] before ordering from anywhere else.
What is the return window and what does it cost?
The return page gives 30 days for a bike in its original packaging with under 10 km on the display; for a change of mind you pay the return and EUR 200 per e-bike is deducted (EUR 100 per battery). The Terms of Service describe 7, 10 and 30-day rules, so get the terms that apply to your order in writing.
What warranty does a DYU bike carry?
The warranty page gives one year from delivery for manufacturing defects: a replacement frame only, a battery repaired or replaced in year one and then a prorated credit, and claims by email with photos or video. Product pages show a '12-24 Months Warranty' banner that the page does not explain.

What we couldn’t verify
- The page claims 150km in pedal assist mode, a 15-degree climbing ability and IP54 with no stated method; none of the three outside reviews, all of the US-market C9, includes a range test.
- The outside reviews are of the US-market C9, a different specification (much more powerful motor, different brakes), so their speed and power figures do not apply to this page's 250W C9.
- The page names no motor, battery or brake brand and lists no gearing; its header calls the brake 'Hydraulic disc brake' while the technical table says 'Oil brake', and White was sold out when read.
- The store's pages disagree on returns: 30 days on the return page, and 7, 10 and 30-day rules in the Terms of Service; the return page deducts EUR 200 per e-bike for a change of mind.
- Product pages show a '12-24 Months Warranty' banner while the warranty page gives one year for manufacturing defects.
