Douk Audio P2 Mini Bluetooth Tube Preamp Review
A tube preamp, headphone amp and U-disk/TF-card music player in one $73.99 mini chassis, with Bluetooth, RCA in, three-band tone control and a remote.

Our verdict
The P2 squeezes a tube preamp, a headphone amp and a memory-card music player into one $73.99 mini box. Bluetooth, RCA, U-disk and TF card inputs cover most sources, the NE5532 tone stage offers separate treble, mid and bass, and the op-amp socket means the sound can be tuned later. It is a preamp at heart, so bring an amplifier or powered speakers, and remember the USB socket is for drives, not for a computer.
- Best for
- Builders of small hi-fi systems who want tube tone, a headphone amp and memory-card playback in one box.
- Skip if
- You want to connect it to a PC over USB, or you need it to drive passive speakers or a turntable directly.
Why 3.6/5: Lifted by three jobs in one box (tube preamp, headphone amp, card or stick player), a remote and a full parameter list for $73.99. Held back by a tube listing that differs between its tips and its parameters, a 16-64Ω headphone range, and figures with no test conditions.
The Douk Audio P2 is a mini tube preamp priced at $73.99 that also works as a headphone amplifier and a digital music player. It sits between your sources and your amplifier or active speakers, adding vacuum tube character to whatever passes through.
Inputs cover Bluetooth, stereo RCA, U-disk and TF card, and the listing says it is compatible with iPods, phones, MP3 players, TVs, CD players, laptops, desktops and streaming players. Outputs are a stereo RCA pair and a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the two can output at the same time. As a player, the U-disk and TF card slots read MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC and WAV files up to 32GB with no driver required, and a full-function remote handles operation from across the room. One caution from Douk Audio: the USB interface supports U-disks and USB 2.0 thumb drives, not a PC-USB connection.
The tube stage is designed to filter digital harshness from common sources, and the default tubes are now American 6186 or 6AG5 units (shipped at random since 29 May 2024, at the same price) in place of the original 6K4. The sockets accept 6J1, 6J4, GE5654, 6AK5 or 6*1n tubes if you want a different flavour. For tone, an NE5532 op amp handles separate treble, mid and bass adjustment, and the op-amp socket is pluggable so other chips can be swapped in. The aluminium case is black with power and input indicators, and the listing is clear on two limits: the P2 cannot drive passive speakers, and it should not be connected directly to a turntable.

How it compares
The Douk Audio P6 MINI Bluetooth Tube Preamp review ($49.99) is $24.00 cheaper and shares the Bluetooth 5.0, U-disk and RCA inputs, a pluggable tube and a ±6dB tone range. Its page lists a bigger U-disk limit (64G at 24Bit/192K, against 32G here and no TF slot), a lower THD (at most 0.03% against 0.05%) and a higher SNR (100dB or better against 98dB or better), but only a stereo RCA output: no headphone jack and no mid control. The P2 Mini adds the headphone output (100mW into 32Ω for 16-64Ω), the TF card slot and the mid control. Pick the P6 MINI if you only need a source box ahead of an amplifier; pick the P2 Mini if you also want to listen on headphones.
The Douk Audio P1 Bluetooth Tube Preamp USB DAC review ($89.99) is $16.00 more and takes a different route: Bluetooth 5.0, PC-USB at 24-bit/192kHz and RCA in, with a stronger headphone stage (160mW into 32Ω for 32-300Ω headphones) and a printed THD of 0.01% and SNR of 103dB. It has no card or U-disk player, whereas the P2 Mini page says its USB port takes U-disks and USB 2.0 thumb drives but not a PC-USB connection. So the P1 suits a desk with a computer and the P2 Mini suits a system that plays files from a stick or card. The Douk Audio P2-FM Magic 6E2 Tube Preamp review ($79.99) is the other P2-branded unit and a different product: no Bluetooth or RCA input, but an FM radio, a clock and a 6E2 level display.
Shipping, returns and warranty
- Shipping: Douk Audio's current shipping page says orders are generally processed no later than the next business day and arrive in 2-8 business days, with duties, taxes and customs fees included in the checkout price unless noted otherwise.
- Older shipping terms are still online: airmail at 10-25 days for parcels under 2 kg, DHL, UPS or FedEx at 5-8 days above that, and a line saying the store is not responsible for import duties. Check the delivery estimate and any duties at checkout.
- Returns: ask within 30 days of delivery and wait for approval before sending anything; an approved return has to ship within 7 days. Items need all packaging and accessories and no excessive wear, or the store can refuse them or refund part of the price. Refunds go to the original payment method after inspection.
- Not refunded: original and expedited shipping, duties, taxes and customs charges, unless the law requires it or the store made the error. The return page does not say who pays return postage, and the older refund page excludes mistaken orders and change-of-mind returns from free after-sale service.
- Warranty: 24 months from purchase for manufacturing defects, with free repair, a replacement unit and free shipping both ways for covered repairs. Drops, liquid, DIY repairs, lightning, extreme temperatures and misuse are excluded (partial fees may apply), and damage from weak packing on the way back may not be covered. The older refund page still says 1 year.
- Seller: the site is run by Shenzhen Anba Technology Co., Ltd (Shenzhen, China) and HONGKONG LONGSHENG Import and Export Trading Co., Limited (Hong Kong); support is by email at [email protected]. These terms cover orders placed on doukaudio.com; other sellers apply their own.
For this product, the page has a 'Shipping to' selector (US, UK, EU, AU, Other) and shows Free Shipping, 2-8 Days Arrival, 30-Day Return and 2-Year Warranty badges near the price.
What we liked
- Three roles in one box: tube preamp, headphone amp and standalone music player from U-disk or TF card
- Separate treble, mid and bass knobs on an NE5532 tone stage, with a pluggable op-amp socket for swapping chips
- RCA and headphone outputs are both live, so speakers and headphones can stay connected
- Plug-and-play U-disk playback of MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC and WAV, no driver needed
- Full-function remote control and clear power/input indicators
Worth noting
- The USB port is for U-disks and USB 2.0 thumb drives only; it does not take a PC-USB connection
- It cannot drive passive speakers or connect to a turntable directly; an amplifier or active speakers are required
- U-disk and TF card slots are capped at 32GB, and in RCA input mode the previous/next track buttons do nothing
Questions before you buy

MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC and WAV, from U-disks and TF cards up to 32GB.
Which tubes does it take?
It ships with American 6186 or 6AG5 tubes (shipped at random since 29 May 2024), and the sockets accept 6J1, 6J4, GE5654, 6AK5 or 6*1n replacements.

What we couldn’t verify
- Tubes: the parameters and packing list say 6K4 x2, but the page's tips say 6186 or 6AG5 tubes (shipped at random) replaced the 6K4 from 29 May 2024; the page does not say which pair you will receive.
- THD 0.05%, SNR 98dB or better and ±3dB (20Hz-20kHz) come with no test level or load; the headphone range stops at 64Ω, the lowest top end among the tube preamp reviews with a headphone output.
- The page says the tube design filters out digital sound and makes the sound 'warm and sweet'; that is the store's wording, with no measurement.
- Bluetooth is listed as version 5.0 with no codec list, range or latency figure, and the page does not name the file system the 32G limit applies to.
- Power: a DC 12V adapter is in the box; the page gives no current rating or plug type, and the remote ships without batteries.
