Douk Audio D5 4-Way Switcher 5-Band EQ Review
A 4-in-1-out switcher and 1-in-4-out splitter with a 5-band equalizer from 80Hz to 10kHz, EQ bypass, a built-in headphone amp and a large analog VU meter with 6-level backlight.

Our verdict
The Douk Audio D5 solves two everyday hi-fi problems in one metal box for $109.99: choosing between four sources, or feeding one source to up to four amps and speakers at once. Add a 5-band equalizer with bypass, a built-in headphone amp and a backlit analog VU meter, and it earns its place on a busy desk. It is a switcher rather than a mixer, and the 3.5mm Priority jack overrides RCA — worth knowing before you wire it up.
- Best for
- Busy desktops that need to switch between several sources, split one source to multiple amps, and shape tone with a real 5-band EQ
- Skip if
- You need to blend or mix sources with per-channel levels, or you must keep a 3.5mm Priority connection and RCA in use at the same time
Why 3.7/5: Lifted by a full parameter list, a clear FAQ on the Priority jack and ground-lift switch, and an adapter in the box. Held back by no THD or SNR figure, no tolerance on the frequency response and a price above the plain 5-band units.
The Douk Audio D5 is a 4-way audio switcher and splitter with a 5-band EQ preamp, priced at $109.99. It handles two opposite jobs: as a 4-in-1-out switcher it lets you move between four different sources — phones, tablets, players — without constant plugging and unplugging, and as a 1-in-4-out splitter it feeds up to four amplifiers or active speakers, with any combination of outputs working simultaneously for comparisons or multi-device listening.
The built-in equalizer offers precise adjustment at 80Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz, 3.3kHz and 10kHz, or an EQ bypass mode for a direct, unaltered signal. Volume control remains available in bypass mode. The D5 also doubles as a headphone amplifier for personal listening, and a large analog VU meter with 6-level backlight and gain adjustment provides real-time feedback on the music's dynamics — all in a compact metal enclosure.
Wiring notes from the maker: the 3.5mm Priority jack takes precedence over the RCA I/O ports, so if there is no sound from RCA, ensure the Priority jack is not connected. If noticeable noise appears, toggle the GND switch on the rear panel to resolve most ground-loop issues. And while the D5 switches between four inputs, it does not support individual volume control per channel, so it is not recommended as a mixer — it works effectively as a switcher instead.
In 1-IN-4-OUT mode all four channels can output simultaneously, with the D5 acting as a true audio splitter. The unit ships with a DC 5V/2A power adapter, and the maker advises using it or another supply delivering at least 2A, since insufficient current may cause the D5 to not function properly.

How it compares
At $109.99 the D5 is the only one of the nine equalizers and mixers in this group whose page lists switcher and splitter modes: four sources in and one out, or one source split to four outputs that all run at once. Its equalizer has 5 bands (80Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz, 3.3kHz and 10kHz) with ±10dB each and a bypass mode. The Douk Audio EQ5-TONE also has 5 bands (75Hz, 400Hz, 800Hz, 4kHz and 10kHz) plus Bluetooth 5.0 input, L/R balance and twin 45mm VU meters, and costs $89.99, which is $20.00 less than the D5. The Douk Audio EQ5 Mini is a plain 5-band unit with ±10dB and bypass at $64.99, which is $45.00 less, and its page prints a THD (total harmonic distortion) of 0.003% at 1kHz. The D5 page prints no THD or noise figure.
Who it suits: the D5 fits a desk that has to move between sources or feed several amplifiers, with a headphone output (150mW at 32Ω, for 32-200Ω headphones) on the same box and a 5V adapter included. If you only want tone shaping, the EQ5 Mini does that for $45.00 less. If you want a balanced XLR output, the Douk Audio EQ7 at $119.99, which is $10.00 more than the D5, lists RCA and XLR in and out, 7 bands from 32Hz to 10kHz and an adapter in the box, but its page shows no headphone output. Skip the D5 if you want a mixer: its page says it has no volume control per channel and is not recommended for that.
Shipping, returns and warranty
- Shipping: Douk Audio's current shipping page says orders are generally processed no later than the next business day and arrive in 2-8 business days, with duties, taxes and customs fees included in the checkout price unless noted otherwise.
- Older shipping terms are still online: airmail at 10-25 days for parcels under 2 kg, DHL, UPS or FedEx at 5-8 days above that, and a line saying the store is not responsible for import duties. Check the delivery estimate and any duties at checkout.
- Returns: ask within 30 days of delivery and wait for approval before sending anything; an approved return has to ship within 7 days. Items need all packaging and accessories and no excessive wear, or the store can refuse them or refund part of the price. Refunds go to the original payment method after inspection.
- Not refunded: original and expedited shipping, duties, taxes and customs charges, unless the law requires it or the store made the error. The return page does not say who pays return postage, and the older refund page excludes mistaken orders and change-of-mind returns from free after-sale service.
- Warranty: 24 months from purchase for manufacturing defects, with free repair, a replacement unit and free shipping both ways for covered repairs. Drops, liquid, DIY repairs, lightning, extreme temperatures and misuse are excluded (partial fees may apply), and damage from weak packing on the way back may not be covered. The older refund page still says 1 year.
- Seller: the site is run by Shenzhen Anba Technology Co., Ltd (Shenzhen, China) and HONGKONG LONGSHENG Import and Export Trading Co., Limited (Hong Kong); support is by email at [email protected]. These terms cover orders placed on doukaudio.com; other sellers apply their own.
For this product, the page lists shipping to US, UK, EU, AU and Other and shows Free Shipping, 2-8 Days Arrival, 30-Day Return and 2-Year Warranty badges near the price.
What we liked
- Two devices in one: switch between four sources, or split one source to as many as four amplifiers or active speakers
- 5-band EQ at 80Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz, 3.3kHz and 10kHz gives real tone shaping, with a bypass mode for an unaltered signal
- Volume control remains available even in EQ bypass mode
- A built-in headphone amplifier makes personal listening easy without a separate box
- Thoughtful touches: a 3.5mm Priority jack, a rear GND switch for ground-loop noise, and a retro VU meter with 6-level backlight
Worth noting
- It cannot be used as a mixer — there is no individual volume control per channel, so D5 works as a switcher rather than blending sources
- The 3.5mm Priority jack takes priority over the RCA I/O: no sound comes from the RCA ports while it is connected
- The rear GND switch resolves most ground-loop noise according to the maker, but 100% elimination is not guaranteed
Questions before you buy
Does the D5 come with a power supply?
Yes, it ships with a DC 5V/2A power adapter. If you use another supply, ensure it provides at least 2A of current, otherwise the D5 may not function properly.
Can all four outputs work at once?
Yes. In 1-IN-4-OUT mode all four channels can output simultaneously, with the D5 acting as an audio splitter.
Why is there no sound from the RCA ports?
The 3.5mm Priority jack takes priority over the RCA I/O port. To use the RCA I/O port, make sure the Priority jack is not connected.
What are the shipping and warranty terms?
Douk Audio ships to nearly 200 countries from several warehouses; its shipping page lists 2-8 business days for delivery, with duties, taxes and customs fees included in the checkout price unless noted. Its warranty page covers manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase.

What we couldn’t verify
- Brand: the page title says Douk Audio D5, while its Parameters list the brand as Nobsound and its feature heading reads 'Nobsound D5'. The store sells both brands.
- The page prints no THD, SNR or channel-separation figure for the EQ or the pass-through path; it calls bypass 'pure audio without coloring' and the unit 'high-quality sound control', with no measurement behind either.
- Headphone output: 150mW at 32Ω is given without a distortion level; the page pairs 'decent performance for personal listening' with 'rich, detailed audio' and 'precision and clarity', with no measurement behind either.
- Frequency response is 20Hz-20kHz with no ±dB tolerance, and the page does not say whether it applies with the EQ in or bypassed.
- Power: the page lists DC 5V at 2A or more, with a 5V adapter and a Type-C cable in the box, but not the adapter's plug type for each shipping region.
- Warranty: the 2-Year Warranty badge is all this product page says about cover; what is excluded is on the store's warranty page (see the shared section).
